For the record, my Haven't Seen list includes films that I believe it would be unfair to rate before seeing as an intelligent adult.

I'm glad you like it. But I just don't felt the same, sorry.

Actually, I looked and it was a little bit out of order. It's now sits at 1528. That'll probably still annoy you, but I can't do anything about it.
Haha... every little bit helps!
Yeah, Attack the Block is awesome! I really like the fact that the aliens are people in costume. More films should do practical effects, for example, The Hobbit.
Wow, I didn't even realize they were people in costumes, I do love that they weren't big uglies like in Cowboys and Aliens, grotesquery is overrated these days.
Cowboys and Aliens took itself waaay too seriously! With a title like that, you expect fun....... nope. All you get is grumpy Harrison Ford.

Yeah, I actually thought where it went wrong was it was so good at the beginning as just a straight forward western that I was disappointed it wasn't JUST a western.
Wow guys, I have really got to re-rank. I ranked too many films randomly and now everything has just been shuffled in based on 1 win or 1 loss. It's crazy messed up now. So... I don't know when I'll get a chance to rank each film right away, so if your favorite seems out of place, let me know and I'll take a look.

Man, you know my list better that I do. ;) That is a quality two weeks of movie watching! Cherish it! :)I'll give your podcasts a try.
Have you seen Vampire's Kiss?
I started it once, but thought it was going to suck. No pun intended.

I don't know what your sense of humour is. But I found how crazy Cage gets hilarious. Did you see him eat a live cockroach?
JeffHammer on 4/26/2013 Reply · Like · (1 like)
I prefer Cage's humorous films to his action films. I guess that means I find him funny. I will give it a shot if I see it around on tv or at the local library or something. I'm all for seeing anything if I have someone to discuss it with.
I'm listening to your Hick review right now. :)

I like the length of your podcast. I'd be able to listen to eps very easily. Which is good because I usually listen to the film junk podcast, which is close to four hours! It won't be a problem at that length to fit it in. I personally didn't like Hick.
Hick certainly isn't great, I do know people like those characters though. I was a little shocked that Derick Martini took the time to comment on the podcast. I'm on a hiatus actually right now, but Jason is a great solo caster and I will probably be back at some point in the near future. He is reviewing Cleanflix and Trucker next week. I wanted to make a shorter podcast to try to make it easier for people to listen. Thanks for giving us a shot.

No problem. I'll listen in the future also. I'll have to look them up. I haven't heard of either of them. That's pretty cool that Martini commented!I'd have a lot to say on Vampire's Kiss if you watch it. It's really the craziest Cage movie available.
Hey are you on facebook? I have a movie group on there that needs some people who enjoy discussing movies. We are going to start having theme months in May.

I'm sorry Jeff, I'm one of the minority that doesn't go on Facebook. If i did, I totally would do have a look. I wish you luck for May. :)

Hey, no worries. Any Ben Kingsley recommendations? He was chosen for our first month. I'm looking at Gandhi, Schindler's List, Death and the Maiden, Hugo, House of Sand and Fog and Searching for Bobby Fischer for sure. Am I missing any good ones?
shane24 on 4/28/2013 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Bloodrayne, The Love Guru? Nah, they're terrible. I think you should add Sexy Beast.
JeffHammer on 4/28/2013 Reply · Like · (1 like)
Seems to be the popular one.
Have you seen the De Palma remake Blow Out? It's much better in my opinion.
No, I had never heard of either film. I'm looking through 1,001 Movies You Must See Before You Die and BlowUp was in it, so I gave it a shot, but Blow Out seems interesting,
I like Blow Out so much that I'd recommend it. John Lithgow is fantastic in the film.
I might give it a shot then.
Have you seen the Robogeisha trailer on YouTube? It's a bit disgusting, but the guy doing the narration is hilarious!
I have not.
What do you like about The Court Jester? I haven't heard of it before.
It's similar to Robin Hood but a comedy and it has a case of mistaken identity. Very funny film starring Danny Kaye, Basil Rathbone and a very young Angela Lansbury. If you like Bob Hope and Bing Crosby or Abbott & Costello I think you will like it. But in my opinion it is better.

For different reasons, I have turned off House of Sand and Fog twice. After seeing your rating, i'm willing to give it another go.
JeffHammer on 5/4/2013 Reply · Like · (1 like)
I'm curious those reasons. I enjoyed it a ton. But it's right up my alley. Similar to Crash and American Beauty in different ways. I enjoyed it, I think it is amazing when someone can make you feel equally for two parties at such odds with one another.
shane24 on 5/4/2013 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
You were right. It was a bit too low, however, I still don't like it that much. It's been a while, but I remember nothing really standing out for me. It now sits at #2131 on my list now. What did you like about it Jeff?I think I turned off The House of Sand and Fog twice was because both times I wasn't really in the mood for that type of movie. I own it, so I'll definitely get to it at some time.

I'm planning on watching Elegy with Ben Kingsley next week. Have you heard anything about it?
JeffHammer on 5/10/2013 Reply · Like · (1 like)
Heard good things. Have it from my library right now. Not sure I'll get to it though. Have to watch Prophecy III and Dogtooth for podcasts.
shane24 on 5/10/2013 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Dogtooth.....aargh. That movie is different, to say the least.I have only seen the first Prophecy.
I thought the second was pretty good. The third I was really into but then it loses all its steam. Pretty bad. Started Dogtooth... we'll see.

Have you seen Once Were Warriors?
JeffHammer on 5/19/2013 Reply · Like · (1 like)
Unless it is slipping my mind I haven't even heard of it.
shane24 on 5/19/2013 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
It's an amazing movie, Jeff. Depressing, but really shows the affects of a violent husband in New Zealnad.
