Usually with musical films I go "yep, it wasn't my cup of tea but if I learn to like this genre maybe I would appreciate it more" but Grease is so bad, that I find it baffling that it's held in such high regard. It's nothing but a nostalgia trip. "Oh but Eagleskywalker87, isn't Empire, Raiders and BTTF just a nostalgia trip?" That's not true at all. Empire, Raiders and BTTF have quality stories, acting and characters and they're incredibly well made films. Grease is mind boggling bad in story, acting, characters and filmmaking. I hear at least 2 songs per week from this film whether it's on the radio or when I'm walking down the street or at a coffee shop. I've also heard a lot of people go "WOW! Grease has such a great soundtrack". Guess what? The songs are bloody awful! Summer loving, You Have To Shape Up (don't know the songs name) and Grease Lightning are some of the worse songs I've ever heard! And the footage that companion them is equally bad.

I hate musicals, but this is the exception. I love Olivia Newton-John is all.

Watched with my wife who sang along with every song. It probably clouded my view, but it made this first viewing a lot of fun.
