It's always good to see a Ferrell fan here! Sorry to keep you waiting Casino. I wasn't logging on flickharts that much in the past few weeks. Anyway, keep chartin' ! And hey....didn't you like Ricky Bobby? I honestly think it was one of his best moments! lol

Yeah, drive is something special, isn't it?Such a passionate movie. I watched "Bronson" after that and became a instant Refn fan. The guy knows how to make memorable movies,i give you that. And hey,i got a soon-to-be-top-10 for you. Have you heard about Will/Reilly next big thing? lolthis will be good!http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1855401/

Ive heard things about this movie, but never saw the trailer until now. Shit. That looks hella funny. I love movies where people act immature. That's why I love will Ferrell movies. The opening scene about the mall had me cracking up.
Showtimebr on 2/25/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Totally dude, Tim N' Eric was a BIG disappointment, but the Ferrell/Reilly cameos worked flawlessly,as always. About Tintin,dude....what can i say?! I'm a BIG fan of Hergé's work since i was a kid,and just seeing those characters on a epic movie like that....was really breath-taking. I expected a lot from it,and it was SO good overall that even my expectations couldn't imagine such a great flick. =)

Dude,we discussed this already, but REALLY... 2011 has just blew me away. Such a unbelievable year for movies. "The Artist" was the best of the pack, the cream of the crop, and it really Symbolized what this year represented: A homage to hollywood and all the cinema history.

Anchorman 2 on the way buddy =)
Showtimebr on 4/9/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I'm crazy about watching Casa De Mi Padre as soon as i can,but It's gonna take some time to hit Brazil, and it's gonna be a straight-on DVD. Anyway, that doesn't matter,i can wait...ESPECIALLY for Anchorman two. \o/
Showtimebr on 4/30/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
haha! FINALLY i got a chance to see something before you guys, but hey,it's just a matter of time. Avengers is,side-by-side with Iron Man, the best Marvel entry yet. But i don't really dig into the hype people are building for it,comparing w/ Dark Night (TOTALLY different styles) and that kind of thing. But it's a nerdgasm. Any Marvel fan will be proud of it.
shane24 on 5/3/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I second what Showtimebr said to say about The Avengers, and in my opinion Hulk is the best yet.
shane24 on 5/6/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
New number one! What were your highlights of The Avengers? Did your crowd have the big laughs that mine did at Hulk?

I loved Cabin in the Woods. It really surprised me and completely turned the whole genre on its head. I'm glad that it's in the top 150 on here now. It's finally getting what it deserves. It's cool seeing that you liked Avengers slightly more than I did. That movie really surprised me too. Easily the best superhero film I've seen. You have a great top 10 by the way. I'm really glad to see Drive there.
I agree with what you said about Drive. It just really sucks that people never gave it a chance or saw it as being too slow. I guess they enjoy films like Transformers? (shrugs) I see what you mean about films that entertain you. Nothing wrong with that at all. I enjoy films with good quality stories, characters, and writing, e.g. Pulp Fiction, Drive, No Country, and Social Network. Those are what entertain me the most. I do enjoy the occasional 'fun' movie like Avengers and Cabin in the Woods and if they surprise me enough, they get put up in my top 10 just like those two. Another sucky thing about Drive is that it wasn't even nominated for anything worth mentioning at the Academy Awards. That was a bummer.
MrBrowntheReviewer on 5/8/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
The only summer movie that comes to mind is Dark Knight Rises. I've been looking forward to it for as long as I can remember. I really think it'll top The Dark Knight and Avengers as the best superhero movie around. I'm hoping that it will. My hype for it is extremely high.
I forgot about Prometheus. I wouldn't necessarily call it a summer film but it's close enough anyways. The new Spidey looks pretty cool I think. Andrew Garfield looks promising as Parker and Emma Stone is always nice to look at. Other films I'm looking forward to are Men in Black 3 (childhood favorite), TDKR, Prometheus, Expendables 2, Looper, the remake of Red Dawn, The Hobbit, and Django Unchained. They are spread out for the rest of the year so I at least have something to look forward, lol.

Thanks for confirming the add, lol.I really like your top 10. I LOVE Drive. It's probably my favorite movie of the decade. So much awesome and it has a great story to go along with all that awesome. The Star Wars movies are always a plus.

Did you mind explode when you heard about Anchorman 2? Or did you just randomly start running around the room :)

What's your opinion on Battleship? I see you have it ranked high, I personally didn't enjoy it. I just would like to hear another opinion.
shane24 on 5/31/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I also enjoyed Transformers, and many movies like this. However, Battleship had too many ridiculous parts to go through them all here. I wanted to like it, but i actually nearly fell asleep watching it. It's great you liked it, your better off than i. I always want to walk away from a movie and say i liked it, so when i don't, it's my loss.
Reelz on 6/15/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I love movies that leave ambiguous endings. I always like something to discuss about with people I've gone to see them with. It just sucks that Prometheus has been receiving a lot of hate recently. Good to see someone else that has respect for it as I do.
Showtimebr on 6/20/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Oh my,oh my! Look who's got the #1 Spot! Assemble!
Showtimebr on 6/22/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Your discussion with Reelz made me so hyped up to watch Prometheus that today,i spent the whole day on the cinema in a long Sci-Fi session that also featured the (WAY less memorable) MIB3. Dude,i REALLY agree with both of you,Ridley Scott did a SUPERB comeback on the genre.
You're not the only one,Casino! Sometimes mates and dates mixed with a flick that you really want to watch is not a really good mix. Prometheus is EXACTLY the case.
And the final scene,my oh my. That was a nerdgasm.
shane24 on 6/29/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Glad you have seen The Cabin in the Woods. Unfortunately for me the movie distributors in Australia have no idea what they are doing. It has only just come out now, and only in two cinemas on the other side of the country! Can you tell me, is it worth the hype? And is a definately Blu-Ray purchase?
You have good taste, so I will get the Blu-Ray ASAP. Going by how they have treated it so far, I can expect it released by 2018 :)

Showtimebr on 7/10/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Not really,Casino. And that's quite a heresy, cause i love Bill Murray and he always work with Wes..go figure. I'll keep a eye for when "Moonrise Kingdom " comes out,i think there's a big chance i will dig it.
Showtimebr on 7/11/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Yeah, that's why i told you i have high hopes for "Moonrise" , a lot of people that already watched said that is a whole different take on the Weird-Wes-Way of movie making. Talking about big expectations, i finally rented "Casa De Mi Padre" here,i'll watch it this week. It's been a long time since Master Ferrell didn't showed up on my screen! =]
Showtimebr on 7/17/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
For real? A nice movie, and that was about it. They did a fine job portraying all the laughable clichés of a cathartic latin soap opera, and it was a good idea overall...but when it comes to "laugh out loud" moments..i didn't had a lot of those. And i really wanted. =(

Friday, The Dark Knight Rises will be my 2000th movie. Had to plan my movies just right and it worked out. Gonna be a epic movie for a great number.
Reelz on 7/24/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I loved TDKR. I felt it was a fantastic end to a fantastic trilogy. I'm already looking forward to seeing it again very soon.
shane24 on 8/11/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
What did you think of The Campaign? I'm going to the cinemas in a couple of weeks (my closest cinema is at least two hours away) and need to decide what I want to see. Currently it's between The Campaign, The Bourne Legacy, Total Recall, The Expendables 2 and Moonrise Kingdom.
shane24 on 8/12/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Thanks for that. It helped me out. But it still will be hard for me to choose. I hate choosing. To be honest, Moonrise Kingdom wasn't my highest choice. But I will consider it more now. I will definitely see The Campaign now. I looked at ign's review of the movie. They gave it 4.5/10. But I think most people are liking it much more than that.
Showtimebr on 8/13/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I really hope so,dude. I've been laughing more with Ferrell interviews lately compared to his recent flicks....i'll be watching it as soon as it releases!
Reelz on 8/31/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Yes, I loved The Raid. I watched it twice in one sitting, actually. Last time I did that was with Drive. Now I just gotta find a copy to buy.

I'm so excited for star wars 7! I have made a goal that it will be my 5000th movie.
MysticSpoon on 11/4/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
...which means you have about 2 years and 6 / 7 months (if we consider that Star Wars VII will be released in May, like all the other Star Wars movies). 2 years and 6 months is 913 days. Considering you have 2095 movies on your list, you still have to see 2904 movies. Which means you have to see at least 3 movies A DAY from now on to reach your goal...pretty impossible if you ask me. I suggest you go for 2500 (1 movie every 2 days).
casinoiscool on 11/4/2012 Reply · Like · (1 like)
I'm pushing for it. I made the dark knight rises my 2000th film. I had planned it for 6 months. I kept on calculating it everyday. I like making goals. Watch my list go up.
Skyfall is amazing. Definitely a movie for the fans, it has a lot of references to other Bond movies while still feeling fresh and new. Probably my favorite Bond movie so far, but I still have to finish Licence to Kill and see Pierce Brosnan's Bond flicks. I hear that the only good one is Goldeneye, and some say Tomorrow Never Dies is decent, but apparently TWINE and DAD are often regarded to be the absolute worst Bond movies. Not looking forward to those, but I will see them eventually.
Showtimebr on 11/6/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Yeah, actually Marty Huggins was a RIPOFF (but a good one) of Zach's "twin brother", SETH GALIFINAKIS that has tons of material @ youtube, check it out 'cause it's reall funny.
MysticSpoon on 11/10/2012 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I thought Die Another Day sucked :p . It has the worst opening theme song, the most annoying Bondgirl, stupid editing, a somewhat lame villain and a plot that makes little sense. However it does have at least a couple of redeeming qualities. I thought the first half hour was pretty good (before it all goes downhill once Halle Berry gets introduced), I liked the car chase and I liked the swordfight. The rest is mostly crap, though. GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies are actually very good, but The World Is Not Enough is incredibly bland, boring, unexciting and kind of annoying. I think it's my least favorite Pierce Brosnan Bond film and one of my least favorite Bond films period, along with Diamonds are Forever, Moonraker, A View to a Kill and ofcourse Die Another Day.Ha, well at least I think Skyfall is the best :p . I certainly think it's better than the slightly overrated Casino Royale. It has almost everything you could possibly want from a Bondfilm and more.

Oh, really? I didn't notice it. But that's a pretty small complaint though. I'm glad you liked it.

What did you think of The Descent Justin/casinoiscool? I really enjoyed it. Man, if they were real I would never walk around in the dark. I also liked the choice of colours when it wasn't dark. The green and red really gave it an eerie look to it.
Now that I think about it, The Descent doesn't seem like a movie that would be for you based on your top ten.

Man, your ranking of Olympus Has Fallen makes me really keen to watch it. I got to wait about a month for it to come out though. It's going to be tough to choose between Iron Man 3, Trance, Oblivion and Olympus Has Fallen.

Oblivion was good! I didn't like it as much as you, but I have it at 78%. I just found it a tad too predictable. Despite your terrible score, I think I have to check out Scary Movie 5 out when it's on tv. I want to see why it's so bad.
