Hey

Have you seen the original The Getaway film?

The Getaway? Not in over 15 years. My godfather showed it to me as a kid. Do you recommend it?

I personally love it, but it may depend if you like 70's crime flicks.

If you ever want to talk about movies, I'm always up for it. :)

Oh, and I agree, the Fright Night remake was much better that is should've been. :)

I really dig 70's crime flicks but i make sure to keep variety in my movie diet so it doesn't get stale. Ill check out The Getaway again. Ill probably appreciate it more now. I saw Dallas Buyers club yesterday and thought it was really good. What did you think?

Oh, I haven't seen it yet. I'm Australian, our release dates suck. It only just came to the cinema down here. I will tell you what I think when I see it.

Speaking of McConaughey, are you watching True Detective?

I'm going to do a bad McConaughey movie double sometime this weekend in honour of him winning an Oscar. :D I'll watch How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, and Surfer, Dude- mainly because it's very different roles for both McConaughey, and Harrelson. :).

Never heard of True Detective. Cop Drama? Im a huge Shield fan. Ill check it out. Ive never seen Surfer.
Not a big McCon fan but i thought Sahara was a fun movie. His small roles in Tropic Thunder and Wolf of Wall street were really great. I still need to watch Killer Joe.

Oh, you need to check out anything that McConaughey has made since the awesome The Lincoln Lawyer. He's on a hot streak.

Yeah, True Detective is a tv show starring Matthew McConaughey, and Woody Harrelson as cops trying to solve a serial murder. It's amazing, especially the end of ep 4. I want to see Surfer, Dude, to see them both in vastly different roles :) It's only eight eps long, so it's easy to get through. Then, next season, they're going to bring in new big names for a new season.

I'm also a huge Shield fan.

My cousin was in the play of Killer Joe fifteen years ago. :) I was too young to see it. She got naked. I don't want to see that. :)

So I should check out Mud also then. I only thought of Killer Joe because a while back i kept hearing McCon was coming into his own and Killer Joe was the proof.
What kind of play has nudity? Your cousin is really brave to do that.

I would have had to skip the play too.

You're in Australia? I have never been. I am in Japan right now so I think Ill get the new Amazing Spider-man early and hopefully Godzilla.

I haven't seen Mud either, but from what they say, that's a yes.

I think many plays has nudity. The part required it, so she did it. I agree, it's very brave, though. I have seen other plays she's written and starred in, though. They were brilliant.

So, do you mean you're Japanese, or that's your location at the moment?

Is Spider-Man big over there? I understand Godzilla. The only movies we get early are Marvel films. We got Iron Man 3, and The Avengers a week early. Oh, and the Robocop remake.......yeah! *sarcasm*

I have been checking out more Austalia these last few years. I just need to go to Tasmania one day. I'm going on two road trips this year.

I'm just located in Japan. Spider-man is a Sony production so there is a chance the movie release will be a little earlier. I'm huge fan of the MCU and very excited to see the new Captain America. I was surprised by the new Robocop release, I was expecting a much more generic movie.

Oh, of course, it's Sony.

I wish I liked the Robocop remake more. I just found the action very tame.

Can you please tell me your thoughts on Lords of Salem? I see it's your worst movie of all time. I may have dodged a bullet by not renting in from Foxtel box office the other day.

Well youre right the action was very tame. I was more interested in the predicament Murphy was in. Also Oldman is awesome in just about everything.

I am nearly speechless on LOS. Very few positives to speak of. Some very stunning imagery but other than that nothing. It was terribly paced, no direction, full of jump scares. It had a repetitive plot using the day to day title cards where attempts for unnerving hallucinations occur every night. Just a half baked movie. I was looking forward to this movie too. I really wanted to see what Zombie could come up with in his most independent movie so far. But it was just plain boring and bad.

Except it would have been more interesting if Oldman's character went to jail. Just because he had a change of heart, doesn't mean he should get off from what he did.

Ooh, glad I didn't pay for Lords of Salem! I will probably still check it out, but I'll wait until it's free.

Yeah maybe it would have been better. Ultimately I didnt care. Not unlike people calling for his Gordon from TDKR to be indicted for the Dent Act lie, I just assumed he was pardoned with movie court logic lol.
You might dig LOS but I watched it for free and I was still disappointed lol.

I let it slide in TDKR, because it's awesome. :D

I'm in no rush to see it. One day I will.

Didn't Troll Hunter work for you?

True Detective is one of the best shows I've seen.

How awesome was the end of ep 4?! :)

Was that the recap of the first arrest? If so that was awesome. If only Harrelson's character didn't go unhinged at the scene. But that led to the equally awesome second half of the show. I really enjoyed the infiltration of the motorcycle gang too. That was intense.

That was when Rust was found out, then had to escape with that one take tracking shot. Amazing filmaking.

No, but I really want to. It will take quite some time to get to Australia, I assume. Have you seen it?

No, I watched The Lego Movie on the weekend instead. I'm going up to the city again soon, I'll watch it then, along with Transcendance, and maybe Noah. Oh, and I'm crossing my fingers that The Raid 2 is still showing.

Does Snowpiercer feel like a unique film?

What would you give Cap 2 out of 10?

I don't know if Snowpiercer felt unique but it did manage to swirl a reaction out of me. Cap 2 I would have to give a 4 out of 5. I saw Godzilla recently. It was good but I was a little bit disappointed.

Finally caught Intetstellar. I know it's considered a let down by most but it resonated with me in a way a film hasnt in a while. I never thought I would say this but this feature possibly has eclipsed Pulp Fiction as my #1. I jave to revisit it but it's possible.
