Why Hawkeye is a Better Avenger Than You Think

Jeff Lombardi

Jeff is a former high school English teacher who got out of the business for several reasons. He enjoys watching all sorts of movies and television shows and playing video games when his wife allows it. He credits Mystery Science Theater 3000 for developing his critical eye for film, and admonishes it for alienating him from kids his age because he couldn't just shut the hell up and watch the movie. You can find him on Flickchart under the username barrylutz. He tells me he would like to thank you for your interest in his profile. That is all.

There’s talent, and then there’s arrogance. “He’s not even looking?” That’s just reckless, man.

Thanks for posting! More people should pick-up the comics and give him. A chance before criticizing him. To me, he seemed like a DC hero transplanted into the Marvel universe. Maybe Marvel’s Oliver Queen.

  3. Argument abt Black Widow’s vs Hawkeye’s talents might be more convincing if she’d gotten backstory treatment like rest of team.

I think Hawkeye is pretty awesome. I’d watch a movie about the adventures of Hawkeye and Black Widow any single day of the week.

Have you read the recent Hawkeye comic run by Matt Fraction? It’s the only Marvel comic I really got into regularly.

I’ve always measured Marvel characters by how long they’d last in a room vs. The Hulk. With that in mind…yeah, he’s kind of at the bottom of the list.

  6. So then by that logic, Hulk must be your favorite?
