Well,i hated "Thor" & both "Hulks", wasn't THAT impressed by "Captain America" and thought that "Iron Man 2" really failed as a sequel,'cause didn't quite matched the original. But DUDE...Avengers is a happy surprise, and a AWESOME blockbuster. REALLY matched up the hype.

Marvel has done it again but this time to the max! You can rest assured that Avengers is an absolutely amazing movie. It more than lives up to all the hype. Avengers really takes the comic book genre to the highest level and that's the homest to God truth.

I agree with Showtimebr, I think The Avengers brought an A game for Marvel that hasn't been seen yet! Hulk finally stole the show.

Showtimebr is right. The hype for this movie was so intense i started to wonder could it actually hold up. Let me tell you it did. . This movie was Incredible. Pun intended lol. It wouldn't be too far fetched to say this movie is the best movie ive seen in my entire life. There are so many "moments" of awesomeness. Even when no action is happening on screen the movie still holds up.

I saw this film on a Saturday and for the first time watched Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man 2 on the Friday before. I didn't feel all of the huge hype that this film created but after I left the theater, I was in awe. Everything is done right including the acting and the hilarious and well written script by Whedon. It has even gone as far to top TDK on my Flickchart and is now second place on my favorites. Even if you aren't a huge Marvel fanboy, you will enjoy this film.

Avengers was the most ambitious comic book film of all time, and that ambition paid off. It's NOW the best comic book film of all time bar none. No one involved in this production seemed to take anything for granted. Everyone (actors, FX people, writers, director, etc.) all brought their A-game. It truly is the gem they had promised and truly is a worthy holder of the crown.

I don't get it.

Don't get me wrong; this movie was fun as hell. But there are at least several other Marvel movies I prefer over it. Its epic rise up the charts here puzzles me.

But hey, I have The Dark Knight at #2 on my personal chart, so what do I know? ;)

More than amazing!

The action sequences are spectacular and the story-line keeps you riveted from start to finish. The movie grabs you and eventually drops your jaw right to the floor. From there, the story completely consumes you. It’s one big roller coaster ride to the heart rendering and thrilling finish. Besides the pulse pounding action, I have a feeling that the writing and characterization of this film is going to surprise those that don't know any better.

Avengers hit the high mark and paid off what five other high quality solo films set up. How can fans of the genre not love that? It's the best time I've had in the cinema in years.

It seems like Flickchart changed the way it ranked on the overall user chart, giving greater weight to movies that are considered "acceptable" classics.

It's kind of insulting. The whole point of the site is for rankings to be wholly user generated. What's the point if the site runners decide that they don't like where users are placing the movies, and decide to arbitrarily change the rankings? And what's the point? To give the site some kind of legitimacy it doesn't need? Very disappointing.

I didn't see this movie in theaters, and a lot of people were hyping it up saying it was the best movie ever. So I watched it when it came out on Redbox and was extremely disappointed. So disappointed that I actually dislike this movie because of the false sense of hope I had going into it.

It's a good film. I'd say that it was just a popcorn flick with no real depth or lasting impression tied with it though. I was entertained, sure but it needed something else, like Guardians of the Galaxy.

Also, the Dark Knight Trilogy, the Bourne Trilogu and the OT Star Wars Trilogy are better as well (you can debate it being better than Bourne but imo for me the latter's far better). You can't even debate the others

"The Avengers" plays up to its anticipation and raises the bar for Marvel at the movies. And that is all thanks to a narrative that stresses its heroes' humanity and many superpowered set pieces.

This movie is great, and I think I can finally be happy in saying that. While it is a popcorn flick and nothing really more than that, it executes the popcorn flick aspect incredibly well. The dialogue is snappy and fun and humanizes these people who'd otherwise be unrelatable, the actually pretty funny yet knows when to take itself seriously, has the comic book goofiness that makes the genre so fun to watch, and is a very well paced movie with great acting all around. All around, this movie's just a whole lot of fun. 8/10
