This is not the Hulk you're looking for.

Is this the unofficial sequel to Hulk or was it intended as such.

It was intended as such, before it got rewritten. Still, it does kind of work as a sequel to the Ang Lee film (it does start out with Bruce Banner hiding in South America, after all)

My second favourite MCU film (first being Iron Man)! It's a great character piece about a man's struggle that has emotional depth. You can see this, not only through the dialogue, but the visuals and more quieter moments as well. It's not a mindless, explosion-filled advertisement (like the later MCU films) but a fugitive, love story that is focused on the central characters! The casting is perfect and Edward Norton is superb (I wished he returned for The Avengers)! I will admit that the climax is underwhelming. Wait, no, it's pretty goddamn terrible. It stops being a character movie and gives us a taste of the CGI heavy, loud and destructive crap Marvel becomes! But, I will always defend this movie because it seems to be very overlooked!

Infinitely superior to the previous theatrical adaptation from 2003 - but that wasn't difficult to achieve in the slightest. It's still the bottom of the MCU.
