Outrage Born in Terror (DVD)

How would you rank it amongst the best thrillers of all time?
Flickchart Ranking: Just Added |
During its extremely brief theatrical run, it was simply known as “Outrage.” I have to say the new and improved video release title of “Outrage Born in Terror” is quite possibly the greatest movie title ever. At first glance, you giggle at its ridiculousness but say it aloud three and four times and you begin to see its random genius. Every direct-to-video action movie from here on out should follow its lead and use this template: “_______ Born in _______.” I’ll start, “Death Born in Justice” even “Terror Born in Outrage” sounds amazing.
Boogie Woogie (DVD & Blu-ray)

8 discs of Rudy Ray Moore. I don’t think any more needs to be said. If you don’t have these movies, find them any way you can.
Seven (Blu-ray)

How would you rank it amongst the best crime thrillers of all time?
Flickchart Ranking: #17 |
I’ve always thought this movie was a little overrated. It’s great but not 17th best movie of all time great. I’d much rather watch Zodiac.
Breathless (Criterion Blu-ray)

How would you rank it amongst the best films from the 1950’s?
Flickchart Ranking: #2248 |
50 years old and still an invigorating breath of fresh air.
The Third Man (Not-a-Criterion Blu-ray)
![]() |
How would you rank it amongst the best film noirs of all time?
Flickchart Ranking: #536 |
Criterion’s licensing term has ended, so now it’s another studio’s turn to put The Third Man out on Blu-ray. From the looks of the special features, it may be worth the double, triple or quadruple dip (it would be my fourth copy of the what I rank as the seventh best movie ever made).
Mandingo (Blu-ray)
![]() |
How would you rank it amongst the best movies made in 1975?
Flickchart Ranking: #7408 |
James Mason in one of the best movies ever made about racial relations.

New to Netflix Instant Streaming
Pick of the Week:
Edmond (Streaming on Wed 9/15)
![]() |
How would you rank it amongst the best dramas of all time?
Flickchart Ranking: #4326 |
Every single movie available through Netflix this week is better than Edmond. So why recommend it? I believe that every once in a while somebody needs to experience a true dog of a movie to really appreciate how much great work is out there. Of all the bad movies ever made, this is one of those that thinks it’s actually good and important. It’s not. It’s even more disappointing given the talent behind it. The usually brilliant David Mamet (whose Redbelt was one of the best movies of 2008) wrote it and William H. Macy stars.
