The development is worse than 2011 flick. It's definitely very good, but Rise still a bit "better".

One of the most overrated sequels I've ever seen! Incredibly melodramatic and pretentious, plot holes in almost every scene, one dimensional characters and any sense of plot or structure is forgotten about halfway through. Also, who am I supposed to go for in the second half, the humans or the Apes? The Apes were attacking for the wrong reasons and the humans were made out to be the bad guys. But hey, who cares. Look there's an ape shooting guns on a horse, isn't that enough to distract you from how bad the film is written? No, because I have a brain.

I watched War tonight. Yep, this is one of the most pointless films ever made. Just setup for 2 hours for a war that never comes!

Why does it matter who you're supposed to root for? Neither side is perfect, that's called complex characterization. Koba is a villain who has been mistreated his whole life and simply cannot stand the idea of working with humans. Both sides do bad things, which lead to the war

Very good movie, strong all the way through. The effects are incredible and the story is dark and investing. 9/10
