Blu Ray comes out for Attack the Block very soon. It had a very limited release here, I had no way to see it. It looks like it will be something that I'm really into.

City of God jumps out at me. It follows two guys who are friends take different paths, one a photographer the other a drug dealer. Considering you enjoy The Shining I would say you may enjoy One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for Jack Nicholson. The Treasure of Sierra Madre is another. It's about how greed and paranoia can destroy a person. You liked Casablanca (so did I) so maybe you may like it for the great Bogart performance. I also enjoyed 12 Angry Men, Cool Hand Luke, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, maybe you will too.

Thanks for the recommendations, I do indeed like Jack Nicholson (Five Easy Pieces should really be higher on my list) so Cuckoo's Nest is one I definitely must catch up with!

You're back. What did you think of A Field in England? :)

Yes I'm back - A Field In England was one of those odd films that you don't necessarily enjoy but stays with you for a long time afterwards - beautiful atmospheric black and white photography and psychedelic effects, some rather creepy moments too. I loved the director's previous film Sightseers.

Oh, I loved Sightseers. Just the random violence was hilarious. Probably because I'm the complete oppsite in person.

Have you seen The Act of Killing?

No, not seen that, the subject matter put me off a bit to be honest.

Yeah, I get that. But some of it is actually quite funny. They're such odd people. Horrific what they did, though.

Ah, you've seen Walkabout. I'm Aussie, so I'm interested in your opinion. :)

I liked Walkabout, it had kind of a dreamlike quality I thought and a good message about being in harmony with nature, I didn't want them to go back to the city in the end! I love The Man Who Fell To Earth which is why I thought I'd give it a go, glad I watched it.
