It is awesome and addictive. I end up using the mobile version mostly as it's the perfect site to while away the time with when waiting at a red light, doctor's office, etc. Love it!

I have -- it's been ages. Nick Cage running around w/fake vampire teeth? I need to rank that one. I recall enjoying it at the time. Probably worth a re-watch.

I really liked it. It's been a while sine I saw it, but I remember really liking it. Kenneth Brannagh was great in it.

I'm curious about Killer Joe. My cousin did the play over ten years ago and I'm curious to see the film.

I'd be curious to see the play. The film definitely makes you feel trashy for watching it but it's done so well. Really was great.

I just watched Killer Joe, and I thought it was great. The play was supposed to of been amazing, I was too young to watch it. My cousin played Dottie, so yeah, a bit rough for a 13 year old. I really enjoyed Mcconaughey, he's been on a role since Lincoln Lawyer.

I also really like Rabbit Proof Fence. It's just shocking what used to happen. Very sad.

Glad to hear you liked Killer Joe and RPF -- two great films that are worlds apart. You're right about Mcconaughey -- he's been picking great roles recently. Let's hope he keeps it up. I've always felt he was great but just someone who ended up in a lot of bad roles.

I just watched Bullitt again for my podcast. It's dated but it still really holds up well. There's something to be said for authentic locations and real stuntwork.

What's your podcast called? I actually listen to quite a few film podcasts like film junk, the golden briefcase, film sack, how did this get made? and slash film. I would give yours a listen.

It's called The Next Reel (formerly Movies We Like). We have a lot of fun looking back at a variety of movies in various series -- we just did a Luc Besson series, before than horror, a Richard D. Zanuck series, the Bourne series, etc. It's fun. Check it out! www.thenextreel.com. You can subscribe on iTunes as well. I'd love to know what you think. I listen to a lot of others too -- filmspotting is one of my favorites as well as The Auteur Cast. Lots of great stuff out there!

I was listening to your podcast for The Hobbit, but I had to turn it off because my Internet is running slow. But from what I heard it sounds great. I hope you have spoiler warnings because it really annoys me when I am listening to a podcast and they don't warn people. If you don't mind me asking, are you Andy Nelson or Pete Wright?

Thanks! Glad to hear you tuned in. I'm Andy -- Pete and I generally have a more focused conversation for our regular weekly show. The Film Boards are a bit more crazy but fun conversations (when our connections remain stable). As far as spoilers, we really should just tell people flat out to watch the movies before tuning in b/c we tend to be pretty spoiler-heavy in our shows. I'll have to talk to Pete about it -- it's something we've worried about. It's a hard call, though, b/c when we're talking about a film from the 70s, though, it's already been out there for 35=40 years so we feel people should have had time to catch up with the movie. Recent ones, though, we definitely will make sure we notify if spoilers are coming. Thanks for that comment -- it got me thinking.

That's cool, i see where you're coming from with older movies, but there is so many movies to see, it's very hard to get to all of them. For example, i've seen most of the top movies on your list of shame on the left. Now if i just wrote down spoilers for all of them right now, It would be an awful thing to do. However, now I know just to listen to the episodes of the movies I've watched, it's fine. I don't know if you do this either, my Internet is still slow, but some podcasts just randomly throw spoilers in for movies that weren't even the main focus of the show, very annoying. It's hard when you come to a new podcast to know how they deal with spoilers because they all have different methods. Thanks for telling how you deal with it. I'll just handle your podcast the same as Film Sack, only listen to the episodes that you've seen the movie of. I'll get back to you when I've listen to a full episode, when my damn Internet is faster!

Good point, Shane. It would be a bummer to have those films spoiled for me. Pete and I actually discussed this and are going to have a new blurb at the start of our show to help people better prepare for it. Thanks for the tip, and here's to a faster internet connection in 2013! :)

I just listened to your Hurt Locker podcast and I thought it was great. I will be listening from now on. I hope you or Pete don't think I'm a dick for asking about the spoilers, wasn't my intention. I'll go give you five stars on iTunes now my Internet is faster.

Thanks, Shane! Glad to hear you liked it! And no, we don't think you're a dick -- we've chatted about our spoiler-y nature before and have been a bit lax about coming up w/something to say but now that we have a new name as of last month, we're really pushing to lock some of that stuff in a bit more. So thanks for the motivation. ;) I hope you enjoy the other episodes!

I can't get enough of it. It's a wonderful story about trying to find yourself and help others find who they are. Incredible characters. Great dialogue. Brilliant performances. It's definitely one I can return to time and again. Have you seen it?

Yeah, I enjoyed it too. I just wish it didn't have Michael Douglas in it, he's kind of creepy to me. Give me Kirk Douglas any day. :)

Ha! How funny. I have no problem w/Michael Douglas and, in fact, think it's one of his best roles. He's one of those actors who always feels like a movie star who is "acting", and I can enjoy him for that going in, but in this, it felt like a real, honest-to-God, down-on-his-luck writer who has lost direction and his ability to make sense of anything anymore. I thought he was perfect for it. So given the fact that Kirk Douglas obviously couldn't have been cast for this, who would you have cast? Assuming it's the year 2000 again and you were looking for a middle-aged man.

(And I agree, Kirk Douglas is stellar! Although he clearly taught his son how to chew scenery and be an "actor". Regardless, I love his stuff!)

Yeah, Michael Douglas is great in Wonder Boys, but I can't deny my feelings. I don't know if you've seen Twin Peaks, spoilers ahead...................... (When I see Michael Douglas, I feel like he is going to do a Bob, snarl and climb over the furniture at me:)................................ End of spoilers.

As far as other actors. Possibly William Hurt, David Strathairn, Robert De Niro or Ben Kingsley come to mind. As I said, Michael Douglas is great, but i can't deal with him. Very scaly. Maybe they could just change the script to a senior citizen writer, then they could of got Kirk Douglas! :)

No worries. I've seen it, though it has been a while. ;) As for great actors, those are all great. Tom Hanks and Jeff Bridges have always been my favorites, but honestly, I love any actor who can really transport me. Everyone you named has blown me away w/their performances many times.
