the dozens of Marvelite sock accounts handled by the same person. Hope19/Bobert/CaptainMarvelous/Avenger7/Fontinella and there are other, same speech patterns and opinions. They hate anything, literally any single product released by Nolan or DC (except Wonder Woman as you see) and use the same worlds like Fizzles, or this is trash etc. The Joker/TDKR hate mostly comes from this guy, since this site was really active before. I mean you can understand someone picking SM3 over Memento or dark Phoenix and Ironman 2 over TDK and Inception? I don’t. This tension started in 2012, you can see the avengers vs DK threads or something, mostly neutrals were picking a side as far as I know. Squaremaster, a respectable and known Nolan fan, went into a beer with the known Marvel fanboy named Avenger7. Who used Yellowjacket, movieman etc as alts.I don’t think there is anything else to explain or to say here.

Yeah I’d agree with this ranking even though Cameron and Fincher is a tough call where idk what to pic.Cameron’s more entertaining but Fincher makes more substance films.

Thanks for your comment! I haven’t ranked The Dark Knight Rises because I’m not to sure how I feel on it- I really like a lot of what it tries to do and think some bits are brilliant, but it really does have a fair bit of plot holes. I also think it’s main theme kind of contradicts The Dark Knight. Still a worthwhile film, but easily the worst of the trilogy for me.

The movie is thematically flimsy. The theme of the movie is supposed to be “Anyone can be a hero so take the chance and leap.” But that message makes no sense because in this case, anybody can be a hero... so long as they’re bitten by a radioactive spider. That says to me that anyone can be a hero so long as they’re lucky enough to have the privilege to. TDKR did a better job at this theme and hell, even Joker did it betterI found the movie to be mildly entertaining and I wouldn’t say that i strongly dislike it or anything like that but I just find it to be grossly overrated. Everyone talks like it’s the best Spider-Man movie ever but once you get past how good the animation is, it’s decent at best.
Oh now I think of it Joker kind of had the same theme as The Dark Knight Rises and Into the Spider-Verse. Except it’s about how anyone can become the Joker

The truth is that there was never a moment when I loved TDKR. I was always underwhelmed by it, but because we at IMDB had invested so much time and energy in the lead up to the film’s release, TDKR in a sense had become too big to fail. I joined IMDB around 2011 for the sole purpose of posting on TDKR message boards and keeping up with any updates/developments related to the film’s production. Before TDKR’s release, we had followed everything all the way from the announcement of cast members to first poster to first trailer. You can imagine how high our expectations must’ve been by the time the release date drew near. When I finally got around to watching TDKR I was massively underwhelmed by the experience, but – like many others – couldn’t bring myself to admit it: TDKR the event had become far bigger than TDKR the actual film itself. Eventually both The Avengers and SkyFall went on to beat TDKR at the 2012 box office – something many industry experts hadn’t expected. Perhaps TDKR was a victim of unreasonable fanboy expectations. But recently I watched the film again with a new unbiased perspective and can easily admit that it’s still a huge disappointment, and by far the worst work of Nolan’s otherwise excellent career.

Marvel fans like Avenger7 are the worst. Imagine having an hate-boner against a director, and his films because he did a trilogy with a rival company. He also hate almost all DC and Snyder films.He uses sock puppet accounts to spam and agree with himself.

the worst thing is that he spams the worst movies(e.g. Transformers) and compare them with TDKR or Dunkirk (he hates these two the most for some reason) and make it look like most people prefer them over nolan

i watched f9, quiet place 2 and black widow. f9 was so dumb but still enjoyable, i didn't watch the first quiet place so idk what was happening throughout the movie, black widow was just an average marvel movie ig

ive seen flashpoint, hell to pay, each batman films and apokolips war, i only enjoyed flashpoint and apokolips war, i really don't understand why people think that DC animated movies are like way ahead of live action when they are bland as hell. i'd rather watch BVS over any of the new 52 batman movies. the DCAU's movies (mask of the phantasm and return of the joker) are way better

I understand that. I also really like Flashpoint, thought it was on par with Under The Red Hood. Some of the others I saw (Batman Bad Blood, Batman vs Robin, and Throne to Atlantis) were bad but I wouldn’t say terrible, I just never wanna see them again. Justice League War & The Judith Contract I thought were awful really. But the only one I hated more then some of the DCEU movies was Son of Batman. I’d much rather watch BvS then that again. I agree they’re bland, they also don’t make much sense. I plan to see more soon, just hoping they get at least a little bit better. But I doubt it.

Hey I'm sorry for my inactivity for the past few months, I have just lost my love for this site really and am a bit embarrassed about some comments I made here. Since I can't delete them I just don't feel like staying around. I still love watching films but I am done with this site for a long time. Even if I were to come back after awhile it would be with a different account. Now I just use letterbox but I haven't written much there, just logging my films.

i'm pretty embarrassed by some of my old comments too, but since i can't delete them there's nothing i could do about it. i think the problem is that when my opinion changes drastically on a movie, and i comment on a thread on the movie, it'd look like i'm spamming.

I've started using Letterboxd a lot more now too. I think there's definitely much more a community to it, there's more features and most of my friends use it a lot as well so it's excellent for social interaction. Also there's less spammers and the rating system seems to be more balanced in terms of low-budget and high-budget films. Btw my username is Chris_on_Film

I’m really glad you all use it! I still like flickchart but Letterbox is better in almost every way and it’s the go-to-place for most people to rate films, next to IMDB. So it’s easy to see the general stance on a film. It’s a joy to stay in touch with you all and see more transparent opinions on films. Cause flickchart just isn’t that lol. A film I’d consider a 9/10 would probably be like a 7.8/10 cause of how small my list is lol. I wish I could still use Flickchart but even if i made a new account it’d be obvious what my previous account is lol.
