Ben is on a all time roll! my fav actor over the last 8 years! fun and great action, intense but still has heart. fantastic movie the tone was perfect the direction was also nice.

Really good movie, I don't understand the negative reviews by critics. Ben was great and the action scenes were top notch. My only nitpick of the film was the long explanation by Simmons' character that explained a lot of backstory. I feel that could have been wrapped up a little neater and hurt the pace of the movie a little. Other than that, very enjoyable. Just to add something, I absolutely loved how Kendricks' character was utilized, the director didn't feel the need to incorporate her more than necessary, there was an opportunity for the movie to jump the shark with her character and it steered away from it. THANK YOU!

I mostly agree with you, but I feel the problem with this movie is partially a writing/editing one. I just felt that the ending felt rushed, especially after that long exposition dump by J.K. Simmons; the FBI subplot feels like it didn't go anywhere (or at least no where as significant as one might have expected) and the finale feels like either the writers ran out of ideas on how to cap it off, or the film got re-written/edited in such a way as to make it more like a conventional Hollywood film. I could be entirely wrong, and that may be how it was meant to turn out, but I just have a hunch. Other than that, an decent, enjoyable film with enough differences to set it apart from a lot of action/crime drama films out there.

The end felt rushed I agree. Although after understanding the nature of the film which felt more like an action thriller, it was easy to kind of just go with it.
