Really good movie. It looks beautiful. The thoughts, ideas, monsters presented are pretty original and the execution is good for the most part. But the movie had flaws as well. Gina Rodriguez's character was extremely annoying. Portman and Isaac had no chemistry, and the acting outside of the shimmer was completely low energy. No idea why Garland went with that choice. The writing was not the best either. Not even good.

2018 movie #5: Annihilation. May be visually beautiful with an interesting world around itself but the first 90 minutes were incredibly bland with all the slow expositional dialogue and the very tedious pacing. I just wasn’t connected to anything until the last 30 minutes which was trippy and thought provoking enough to give it a "meh" rating. 5/10.

The dialogue was... not good.

But i really enjoyed watching the second half of the movie. Very unique.

Also can i have people plants in my backyard?
