another example of puzzling omissions in the listing of actors on this site - here the two leads, Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint receive no mention.

North by Northwest is my favorite Hitchcock. It's just so entertaining, it has aged tremendously well.
Especially Grant and some particularity snappy lines made this movie an absolute blast to watch.

I finally got to see North By Northwest. The dialogue and (most of) the script is great, the acting is superb and it's just very exciting. Is it one of Hitchcock's best? I'm in the minority here, but I'm going to say no. A lot of the shots and set pieces are dated (the scene of Roger driving is unwatchable), the macguffin seemed very basic to me and was brought in too late and it bothered me how Roger was mistaken for a man who doesn't even exist! If Vertigo, Psycho, Rear Window, Rebecca, Dial M and Notorious is a 10/10 then this is a 6/10 (DON'T SHOOT. If you are going to reply, please be a little civilised)
