Criminally underrated to say the least. I highly recommend seeing this film if you haven't.

I felt it was a bit long, but it's carried by Billy Bob Thornton's excellent performance.

I consider this an example of a movie that "Tropic Thunder" famous "Never go full r****" monologue is referring to. The character has a mental disability, but he doesn't have any special talents or skills (dependent or independent of the disability) to balance it out. He clearly just struggles because of his disability making this not a good watch for me.
