I just finished rewatching this. It was steaming on Tubi and I had some time to kill and thought, "What the hell? I haven't watched it since I was a kid, maybe there are some redeeming qualities?"I was wrong. This movie is a mess. In the first thirty minutes I was entertaining the notion that the switch to CGI from practical effects was the problem, but I quickly realized that wouldn't have been enough to save this disaster. This sequel pales in comparison to its predecessor on every level. The plot is ludicrously dumb, which is astonishing when you consider that Landis wrote his script when he was only 19. It ditched the horror for action and failed on that front. The comedy falls flatter than most of the actors' performances. There is some gore and blood, but even that feels sanitized compared to the original. I feel bad for Julie Dibny, she was clearly giving her best performance, but it was lost in a sea of 90's schlock. THEY DIDN'T EVEN GET THE HOWL RIGHT!
