Saw this movie twice in theaters, and now I own it -- Still can't get enough.

One of the few films I saw more than once in theaters (I think I saw this six times). I love everything about it. The script, acting, direction, emotion, music...just perfection.

How is this anywhere near the 100 greatest???

This thing is totally overrated. It was an OK movie, but near top of the all time charts? Madness.
AverageMovieBuff on 4/20/2015 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I agree. It is entertaining up until it gets to the third act and drags way too much at the action scenes. The action wasn't that great either, really. Standard action scenes, acting was fine, everything was fine. Nothing really exceptional by any means.

This is my #1 almost awesome of all time. There was so much matirial that they could of gotten into about what dreams are and instead wasted are time with a stupid snow fortress attack.

"I need to see my kids again" There are numerous ways one can look at this statement. - The fact that the children's faces are not revealed until the final scene of the film (one of the theories of the film) indicates that if it was all a dream and Cob's subconscious was not allowing him to see their faces until he knew, or at least accepted, that they were real. In this case, seeing them indicates an internal struggle to allow himself to see them and accept them. - An alternative theory is the more literal one, where he wants to physically get home to America and be with his kids again. Some argue why he couldn't just fly the kids to him. Putting aside the numerous plot holes that would form if the movie had taken that direction (Getting Mal's mother to agree to sign the papers allowing them to fly, the fact that they could trace them to Cobb's location), what kind of father would want his kids to be raised in a world where their lives are constantly in danger and they have to run from authorities and hit-men all the time? Which leads to the underlying theme of the film... - "I want to see my kids" is a metaphor for "I want the nightmare to be over". Whether Cobb's life of being hired by shifty organizations and running from authorities/hitmen is a dream or reality, he just wants it to end; he wants to have a normal life. He wants to see his kids without all of that baggage. The rich, phenomenally layered film just works on so many sensational levels and gets better with each viewing.

Next time, it would be okay with a spoiler tag, lad
Yeah... Maybe you're looking to deeply into it. I think maybe the statement should be taken literally rather than metaphorically. Also, what you deciphered from the statement is kind of self-explanatory. You didn't really give me anything to speculate over, nice try though.

I feel like you're trying to overanalyze a simple line of dialogue. Cobb is trying to get back to reality, but keeps getting pulled down to Mal, hence why she keeps sabotaging his missions.

Inception is the kind of ambitious, challenging movie that we rarely get to enjoy nowadays. It's EASILY one of the best films of the current decade.

It should be higher than the Matrix and The Dark Knight and so should all three LOTR movies! However, The Matrix and The Dark Knight are in their rightful spots. The Dark Knight deserves to be #33 and The Matrix deserves to be #40!

A stunning achievement for Nolan. My second favorite from him behind Memento.

This is such an intense film. It's my personal favorite because it stands out from the crowd in so many different aspects. First, Wally Pfister's cinematography is unparalleled. He captures a truly beautiful film. (Seriously, watch this movie simply for angles, camera movement, etc. It's incredibly perfect.) Second, the score builds so much tension. I bought the entire soundtrack because it's so emotional and powerful. Hans Zimmer is one of the greatest music producers of all time. Third, the storyline is simply insane. Christopher Nolan had so much going on I couldn't do anything but be mesmerized. Also, the rotating hallway scene is unprecedented in the way it's used here. This movie relied heavily on actual special effects instead of silly CGI garbage. Once all of the incredible aspects of this movie are tied together, I can't help but be awed and terrified at the same time. Great film.

This has elements that are great and some which aren't but most criticism comes from my tendency to nitpick everything. Great Nolan movie, his second best behind Memento.

Why does this movie about dreams and consciousness have more action sequences than all his Batman films?Inception is a few explosions away from being a James Bond film.

Christopher Nolan's best film. Clever, complex, action-packed and intense. And the Zimmer score is epic. One of my favourite films.

An absolute masterpiece. I could watch this movie over and over again. I Love it.
Inception absolutely blew my mind when I first saw it, and I thought it may be better than The Dark Knight. But over time, that opinion has been wiped out. Not that the film is bad, but I've had time to see any weakspots or things that don't work as well. Still a technical masterpiece

A modern cinematic masterpiece.

Changed my mind on this one. This movie is brilliant. The story is brilliantly written without any true issues (I know that people have fault with the exposition, but it's very well used), the editing is flawless, cinematography is possibly Nolan's best, the acting is great from the entire cast, the score is among his best, and has one of the best endings in modern cinema.

I used to love it but now it bores me everytime I try. Doesn't hold a candle to TDK, Memento, The Prestige or TDKR
