My most favorite Kubrick film. It's nearly flawless.

One of my favorites from Kubrick. Easily his best in cinematography. Flawless in that respect. The story is also great, but not as great as the cinematography, hence why it isn't my favorite Kubrick movie

A top 6 Kubrick. Despite the 3-hour runtime and it is a period piece, the film manages its runtime really well and never gets boring.

Fuck what I said before. Top 4 Kubrick. The movies is able to perfectly capture the era fl the Seven Year War with its great production values, handmade costumes, its cinematography, the use of the candles, and the classical music. Aside from its visuals the movie its self has a very interesting story about a man’s rise and fall during the time. Its story is Abel to stay true to the time and showcase the various themes that are featured during that period. The acting from Ryan O’Neal is also exceptional. As always Kubrick has made a very great movie.
