An excellent usage of light, shade and shadows with black & white photography. Dana Andrews is dull as the lead, but the supporting casts make up for it, in this scarier than it should be horror flick.

Tautly directed and highly effective horror thriller. Thankfully not as silly as most 50s monster movies. Enjoyed it a lot. 7/10.
