This is just a great (and underpraised) musical.

Definitely enjoyed the film. It took a while for me to get into it as this was my first Astaire film but the second half was absolutely brilliant. It could go up on a re-watch. The interactions between Rogers and Astaire are stuff of the legends. Loved that stuff!

I liked the parts where this was a musical, but otherwise found it fairly irritating. It's probably a little too low on my chart, but it'll help to bury some films that are much worse.

I found the second half fun and energetic compared to first half, which took a little too long to get moving.

Damien Chazelle said that this had his favorite scene from any movie in it, and also cited it as a huge influence for LaLa Land. It did not dossapoint, that’s for sure.
