Avatar is not the greatest movie of all time. So why is it my number 1? Simply because of the 3D experience I had when i watched it. I ever got to see the extended version in 3D on giant screen. The beauty of the environnements, the colors the 3D. I rate the experience number 1.

You can't say its a bad movie if you saw the movie in 3D. I compare the experience with a visit of Disney world at age 10(wich I did). That is the only thing I can compare the movie with. Once in a lifetime. So beautiful. You are literally in another world. That is Avatar 3D was for me. If you did not saw it in 3D, then you don't know what you're talking about.

James Cameron WAS a great director for his work of Terminator, Terminator 2, Aliens and a few other great movies. He was a bit lost with Titanic. By the time Avatar came along, Cameron had caught the Lucas disease of CGI making movies

I don't understand why Avatar receives so much hate. I loved the movie.

I've just watched this for the first time in probably 4 years, and I've got to say, I enjoyed it so much this time. It was amazing to see for the very first time because of the visuals, but of course many people have issues with the storyline being a bit unimaginative and formulaic.

On this viewing, I appreciated it more. I easily allowed myself to accept the liberties taken with the plot and I had a great time. It isn't all that ridiculous, and if you can force yourself a little to buy into the story, this becomes such a thrilling experience.

I've come to realize that for these past few years, I've been a little unfair on the film, with my memory failing me slightly; I'd forgotten what a special feat in film making this was. For the first time, I'm looking forward to the sequels.

Great movie. Actually, it's under-ranked on my chart, because it's more visual appealing. But, James Cameron still my favorite director to date though.

Admittedly a spectacular CGI light show, but I'm not dazzled by CGI and it doesn't make up for a weak overall story. I almost fell asleep in the theater. No wonder the sequel is stuck in development hell.
