Another thought-provoking film from Ari Aster. It really challenges the viewer much like Hereditary but in a very different manner. Aster really knows how to communicate through the art of film.

A cinematic masterpiece! Fantastic filmmaking, character writing and themes all placed in an eerie and surreal environment!

I can see why Ari Astor is a horror auteur, but after Hereditary and this... he's clearly not my cup of tea

Now that's what I'm talking about. I must be the only person who thought Hereditary was mediocre at best. But Midsommar is some great stuff.

I don't get why people talk about this movie as though it's some kind of fucked up snuff film; I have genuinely gotten bigger scares from some of those low-budget Edgar Allan Poe adaptations from the 60s starring Vincent Price than I have ever gotten from Midsommar.
