Unfortunately disappointing conclusion to a mediocre franchise. First three were great, then went downhill

An underwhelming conclusion to an inconsistent, but entertaining series of films. Despite the stakes being ramped up to 11, the film never seems to once relish in any of its scope or epic glory. The whole thing just feels like any adventure for Harry and his friends, just one with a bit more action thrown in. There's still some really good moments in there, but Return of the King this is not.
