Jolie is decent in the lead, but it felt overburdened by questionable CGI and characters that weren't fleshed out properly.

It's more interesting than other live-action Disney remakes like Cinderella and The Jungle Book, because it's actually trying to do something different. But despite Jolie's laudable performance, it's definitely hampered by an overload of dodgy CGI, and definitely neuters one of animated Disney's better villains.

A 263 million dollar 11-year old Girls fanfic. Jolie and the effects are nice, literally everything else is the most forgettable, bland and cash-grabby shtick ever. In fact, scratch that, the effects are actually a con because they're TOO good for this dreadful script.

3/10 For some effort in the production somewhere
