A good combat movie. Not really a great psychological war movie, but everything doesn't have to be. We have Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter, Paths of Glory, Come and See and The Thin Red Line for that. Not Scott's best obviously, but certainly better than that formulaic, black and white good and evil characters, cliched movie that is Gladiator.
