Almost astonished I didn't hate this movie, but I found myself first not put off, then actually tolerating its over-reliance on 80s-90s action movie cliches. Finally, being totally suckered in to it's hokey conclusion. Sure, it's a Die Hard rip-off, but, it's not a terrible one. The brilliant move here was casting James Woods, a world class wingnut who probably believed his character was the hero of the movie. The best villains are the ones that really believe they're the hero. Woods totally sells it.
