Could we possibly get Dorothy Comingore, Joseph Cotten, and Ruth Warrick listed here too?

A great fictitious biography, the opening news sequence is one of the best segments in film history and is better than most fact-based news sequences.

Forget pretentious movie critics, and the "If you don't like this flick you're a dumb person" battalion that we all know and love so much,'cause this is just a average Joe talking here: "Citizen Kane" is actually a VERY good,(re)watchable movie, not just for it importance regarding technical n' groundbreaking innovations on the way cinema is made, but the whole plot Welles constructed was so freakin' brave, dude. The story behind it only made it better. You have to watch this movie with context,it helps SO MUCH to fully understand what this guy did here. 26 f'n years old man. Talk about talent.

Context is just fine, take it or leave it. It's just a fun movie! Great performances, edifying resonance, an interesting conceit, fun to look at, and pretty darn well paced.

Just saw it for the first time and I really liked it. It's poignant, fast paced, tense and thought-provoking all at the same time. Not one of my favourites but a very fine film.
No wonder people go gaga over it.

There's an Indiegogo campaign going on to finance completing Welles' final film, The Other Side of the Wind

Yeah it's well acted, influential and the story is interesting enough. But there's too much exposition, the twist made the rest of the film feel like it wasn't leading to anything and it just drags for me!

Man I didn't understand this movie back then. Thank God I'm revisiting classics that I previously dismissed!

Exposition isn't a bad thing if handled correctly, and this film handles it very well.

How is it possible that I still haven't written a comment on this masterpiece yet? It's one of the most entertaining films ever made with godlike acting, fantastic music, incredible camerawork, an amazing lead character and arguably one of the most charismatic men who has ever lived in the main role. It's terrific!

Kinda sick of neck-beard Redditors saying it’s “overrated”. Kinda sick of the word overrated because it implies you think you know better then everyone else. But yeah, Citizen Kane. Got nothing new to say about it, it’s a masterpiece and possibly the best movie of all time.

Jeez i was being aggressive. I disown this comment. I still am not a fan of the word overrated, but I really just hate when people just say it’s overrated without any other criticism. But yeah i was to aggressive in this. Still a solid film though.

that’s about as bland criticism you can get. The reason I dislike the word overrated is for this exactly, they just lead to you being lazy and not get into its bad. “CK is bad” gives off the exact same thing. Nothing.

It definitely is terrible. Does not belong in the same breath as the godfather, apocalypse now etc.

A stunningly brilliant character study. The greatest character study ever made on one of the most interesting, layered, and nuanced characters ever conceived. The story is immaculately structured through flashbacks, and uses its flashbacks to not only characterize and develop Kane, but also to characterize the other characters and show what kind of people they are. The editing is masterful, and Welles is able to flawlessly portray a deteriorating relationship in a matter of seconds through smart editing. The cinematography doesn't even need to be talked about. Unmatched. What's left to say? It's perfect. 10/10
