I'd call it better than the book. Fell short of loving it, though. #13 on my Spielberg chart.

Loved it. It improved upon the book in many ways and went its own way to become something special. Geeky fun from start to finish.

2018 movie #8: Ready Player One. Spielberg has crafted an exciting and visually stunning movie that sets place in a world flooding with imagination (both in the Oasis and outside it). But while I was into the movie; the story, the lack of substance and the villainous organisation are definitely the weakest parts. 6.5/10.

Loved it. Funny, exciting and tightly paced. Spielberg on great form.

A lesser tier of Spielberg but even so, he took an interesting (but incredibly sloppily written) novel and shaped it into an entertaining piece of blockbuster cinema. Nothing mind blowing but its a fun couple hours.

I only really enjoyed this movie cause I watched it with my mom. Which honestly, she can make any movie enjoyable to watch. But yeah pretty bad writing and leaps of logic and not really having any substance other then “remember that cool thing? It’s CGI sludge now!” Yay.
