I find it mildly amusing how the "Friends who haven't seen it?" list is subtitled, "for shame!" This is probably one of those films in which there is absolutely no shame in having not seen it; disgusting and repulsive, not to mention terribly shoddy film making. This might be forgivable if it hadn't traded in the opportunity to at least attempt a responsible yet impactful depiction of one of, if not the worst unpunished atrocity committed in the 20th Century for pure shoxploitation and gore, along with a host of racist, cartoonish caricatures, utterly devoid of any historical value beyond saying that "something along these lines happened". I understand that the film makers wanted to make a documentary originally, but the lack of historical evidence made it difficult to do, but this is probably just about the worst thing they could have done to compensate for it.

As shocking exploitative crap goes, it's undone by its lousy production. As a trenchant political or historical drama, it's undone by its exploitative nature. A film without virtues.
