Filmmaking of the highest order. I'm sick of people disregarding spielberg as a great director, he's made more classics than Kubrick and yet people continue to bad mouth him. Close encounters, e.t., indiana jones, Munich, saving private Ryan, schindlers list, the man's a legend!

The guy has likely made more classics than Kubrick, even if Kubrick is a far better director.

Great movie but ultimately overrated. Very gritty and unapologetic which is good for an anti-war movie. It is seemingly just a simple good vs. bad dynamic overall though. The characters weren't that engaging and seemed to be driven on showing brutality.

"Anti-Semitic" is a phrase which means "against Semites" but has come to be used solely as meaning "anti-Jewish". The irony inherent in this ill-used phrase is that the Semitic Arabs are actually amongst the greatest victims in the crime and fraud known as Zionism, in which Russian Jews, who are racially non-Semitic, in the first half of the Twentieth Century, fostered and executed a plan to create an officially recognised Jewish homeland in Palestine. The result of which was the mass displacement and persecution of the indigenous Arab citizens. This is without doubt "anti-semitism" at its worst. And yet to state this plain fact openly today is to invite the accusation of being "anti-Semitic"!

No, the Holocaust didn’t happen - not the way we’ve been told anyway. The 6 million number is a HUGE exaggeration, if not a fabrication. Go read up on the Balfour Declaration: Plans were being laid for the establishment of a Jewish Homeland in Palestine as early as 1917 - long before the Nazi regime came into power.

Holohoax was a ruse to allow the illegal Jewish occupation of Palestine. A genocide had to be engineered (or fabricated) to convince the world that Jews were unsafe in Europe and needed a homeland of their own. This deception is called Zionism. No surprise that The Jew York Times was among the first to report on the Holohoax, when no one else was publishing these lies.

Schindler’s List is propaganda because it’s a false Zionist depiction of history.

It's genuinely hilarious that anyone agrees with this. It's a historical depiction that shows the horrors that the Jewish (along with several other groups) people went through during the Holocaust. Calling it propaganda sounds almost like trying to deny what happened. Oscar Schindler is a real person, these are real events that are adapted into a fictional story.

Yes it did. We have autobiographies from people who actually survived the ordeal. It's absolutely pathetic that this opinion actually exists. Now, the 6 million death count may be exaggerated or an understatement. I don't know that, but that isn't what the film is about, so that isn't really fair. Yes, they mention it, but they aren't showing some kind of message. It's a depiction of events that happened. The Schindler Jews exist. Oskar Schindler was a real person and actually did save hundreds if not thousands of people from the Holocaust.

Besides, it doesn't really make sense to put it in a way in which it seems completely unrealistic considering that similar stuff had been happening to Jews for hundreds and thousands of years.

The fact that you didn't even try to see it as more than just propaganda kinda shoots your credibility in the foot

No finer film about the Holocaust has ever been made. Spielberg's magnum opus. Expertly filmed, three plus hours of engrossing drama. Neeson and Kingsley are great. Fiennes' Amon Goeth is one of the all time great antagonists.

Absolutely terrible movie. I just don't understand how a director as talented as Steven Spielberg (with amazing films like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Minority Report) can make such a bad film. The story is dumb, makes no sense and the movie just tries to fuck with the viewers' emotions for over 3 hours. One of the worst films I've ever seen in my entire life. I'm giving it like a 2/10.

Hmmm, yeah, the 3 hours went by pretty fast, I'll give you that. The Black & White was completely unnecessary to me, the scene with the girl dressed in red was also a joke imo. And then making the ending in colour again made things even worse. I know there's a lot going on but Spielberg's style just doesn't fit a movie like this.

Honestly, this might be better then Jaws. I don’t get how this is only in the top 60. It’s better then Star Wars, The Dark Knight, and Raiders of the lost arc. If you ask me it should be in the top 5.

On IMDB it's number #6. Honestly, I know IMDB gets a lot of hate but a lot of their choices are far from bad, like ROTK at #7, The Matrix at #16, etc., it's just they underappreciate older films (Citizen Kane barely in the top 100) and Forgein films.

It’s about as flawed as this site to me. I use it myself and find it rather well made and easy to use like this site as well. I much prefer it to the mess of Rotten Tomatoes. And #6 is more reasonable, even if I think it’s way better then The Dark Knight. And about the older/Forgein films; definitely. Masterpieces like Citizen Kane, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Fly, Gojira, Ringu, the Frankenstein trilogy, Dracula, Invisible Man, Wolf Man etc. have such low ratings it’s bothering.

My dad's favourite films of all time are the Bond films, and his favourite Bond (and favourite film) is On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Now, it has a 6.7 out of 10 rating on IMDB... Very low indeed, and the film came out in 1967. Now look at Iron Man 2, generally agreed to be a bad (or average) movie by most reasonable critics and film goers, and it gets a 7 out of 10 score. So yeah, the ratings can be weird sometimes.

About the Rotten Tomatoes comment, I have a mixed the site. For every film consensus I agree with, there is one that makes literally no sense. The site is known for overrating Marvel, espically when you look at Ant Man and the Wasp's 87% score or Doctor Strange's 89%. Both are okay, but that's far too high. And films like Joker, Forrest Gump and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl all get under 80% (on the note of Pirates of the Caribbean, wow it's two sequels are so underrated on that site). But I still think it's a useable tool to browse professional critics opinions, and they definitely have some opinions I agree with wholeheartedly (The Greatest Showman is under 60%). So yeah, I think RT is okay but unbelievably flawed. Metacritic is slightly better, but I think IMDB and espically Letterboxd are the best of the bunch

The Last Jedi, Cruella, Toy Story 4, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League stand with a 7+ rating while the old stuff is relatively lower stuff. So yeah IMDB is far from perfect.

And my two biggest problems with Rotten Tomatoes is one it is needlessly complicated and awkward; and two the biases the critics will have. The Last Jedi gets a 91% cause of it’s themes and messages; despite how terrible the film is. But Joker only gets a 68% (49% with top critics) cause much media was against the film before it was even out. And recently I’ve noticed something about the audience score: it’s almost always a 90% now. It’s very strange.
