"Golly gosh-darn, that's a good one. Miike's sick, absurd style is more my thing, but Hana-Bi's the best of what I've seen of Kitano's, so far. Some really touching stuff. But still, doe, Dead or Alive. I'll never understand how Miike can cram 10 films' worth of weird shit into one movie and still manage to make you care."
