Not quite as good as part 2, but slightly better than the first one. Powerful ending to a good trilogy.

Amazing! Better than the 2nd one but slightly weaker than the first one. It's emotionally satisfying and Nakadai is great as always. There are barely any flaws as far as filmmaking is concerned and the story itself is great.

This is unfortunately my least favorite of the trilogy. I agree that the ending is outstanding and the whole POW sequence is great. But everything before that is such a slog to get through, there are so many sub-plots and characters that could’ve been cut entirely and nothing would’ve changed. Along with having this extremely irritating pattern: the soldiers find some girl, she tells some sad story about how the war messed her up and either dies or disappears from the story completely. This happen three times and none of them are important to the plot. The characters go on so many unnecessary side missions and over all it is one of my least favorite movies which is unfortunate because I really do like the second half a lot, but the first half is just so terrible.
