I understand why people think it's overrated, because I sometimes found certain characters to be weak and annoying. However, the breathtaking animation, beautiful musical score, great ending and the unique storyline makes for a great cartoon.

Quite overrated indeed.
It doesn't know whether it wants to be soft or hardcore.
Only 3 characters are actually likable and the plot is D-grade.
