I would argue that it is this film and not Rocky that is the film to start watching if you have not seen a Sylvester Stallone film. Suspenseful, not simply a mindless action film but a genuine portrayal of the mistreatment many Nam vets face when coming home. For some people who claim that Stallone is not much of an actor, watch this film.

I went into this thinking it would be a mindless action movie, not an in-depth look at a wounded soldier's psyche. And that was a pleasant surprise.

Much like the original Rocky, people forget how great of a film this is due to its campy sequels. It has just the right amount of action, good performances, and a meaningful statement about PTSD and how we treat our veterans.
