The best movie of 2017 so far, and by some stretch. Almost painfully beautiful to look at, the score is great, Gosling is awesome and the ending absolutely killed me. 10/10

A worthy follow-up to the original classic and easily one of the finest films of the year. Villeneuve continues to impress.

It's a really good continuation of the Blade Runner story. I'm a bit bummed that it's doing poorly at the box office right now. What exactly are audiences looking for?

One of the best from 2017! Visually stunning, great acting, a lot of wonder to be held and a clever story that's also a great journey of self discovery! This is all coming from someone who finds the first one very overrated! Of course it was going to have poor box office numbers. People nowadays have too short of an attention span to sit through a 3 hour visual experience!

If Jared Leto's character had been played by someone else, it'd be perfect.

They should follow a current trend and replace him with Christopher Plummer.

There were some neat scenes and ideas here, but the actual plot seemed really pointless. Gosling does what he can with K, but I never really understood what his dilemma was, how it affected him, or why I should care. And for a movie with so few ideas, it's way too long and slow. Now I dig slow. Stalker is one of my favorite films. But I feel like Villeneuve just copied the bad things from Tarkovsky (slow, long, vague) without any of the good things.

I thought Gosling's character dilemma was pretty well explored. He wanted to reach beyond the structured life and purpose he was designed for. He wanted to be his own original being and leave his mark on the world by his own free will. Basically, he wanted a "soul", which one scene even stated. This is why he sacrifices himself to rescue Ford's character and then dies content; he has made a difference by his own choice. The theme of the whole movie, as seen with Joy, was when does artificial life become worthy of emotional recognition.

I really enjoyed it. It was visually stunning. If you expected Harrison Ford to have a larger part you might be disappointed, but overall very nice flow to the movie. You really felt for the protagonist at the end. Maybe it's just me, but about 3/4 of the way through the movie I got such a familiar sensation when I realized the story was very similar to that of Clouds story arc in FF7

Watching this masterpiece made me nostalgic about the original Blade Runner. I keep asking myself, how can a sequel that came out 35 years after the original be so memorable and faithful? This was supposed to be a disaster; instead it's a miracle.

19 months later and I have to say; this is the last movie that I can genuinely call a 'Masterpiece!
