Solid filmmaking supports dazzling SFX in this superhero origin story. Unjustly and inexplicably maligned (I guess people just don't like light sci-fi), "Green Lantern" is the ideal adaptation for the beloved superhero.

Ridiculous movie. Definitely not a favourite. I have said it before, but comparing this to Star Wars like they were is amazingly off the mark. Like comparing a strawberry cupcake to a gangrene toe.

I just rewatched this eight years later and it wasn't as bad as I remembered. Still flawed but it had a little charm to it.
