No matter the special effects, I will always love this film. Freddy is iconic from the moment you see him. The fact that he is powerful within the dreamworld gives him a chilling, supernatural vibe. Perfectly original.

Great villain, smart plot and very investing. Only the score is letting it down from being a great movie. Just a dated 80s score from a video game packed with synthesisers and drumming. A better score would’ve made the film as a whole more effective.

I like how this movie is about younger generations paying for the mistakes that past generations committed. Freddy Krueger is a man that should be brought to justice, but any kind of "justice" done with one's own hands is just wrong.

That’s not what the movie’s about... at all.

Ok, this is another horror film that I might get attacked for what I am going to say. Yes, it is exciting but I do not see this in the same level as Halloween and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Halloween is the ultimate slasher and it is suspenseful and Chainsaw massacre is the father of all the slasher films, Freddy on the other hand is quite goofy though I will not say that it is not a good slasher horror flick at all.

A senseless yet intriguing splatter horror film.
