Scorsese is one of the worst directors ever. Stop putting stuff (including musical score) that jerks me out of the storytelling!

The more I think about it the more it grows in my mind as one of the greatest film experiences I've ever had. A true masterpiece.

One of the deepest and most interesting thrillers I have ever seen. The film is incredibly twisted and thought provoking and the final twist is one of the best in cinematic history! Incredibly underrated if you ask me and Scorsese's best since Raging Bull (and yes, I will take it over Goodfellas any day)! It's just the kind of film I would like to make if I got into the film industry!

The final twist is pretty weak honestly. It's a great movie no doubt and pretty underrated, but calling it his best since fucking Raging Bull is such a big stretch that it's basically taboo. The film has way too many flaws to be on the same playing field as others like The Departed, Goodfellas, and others

Raging Bull is just boring. I don't see the stretch here. Shutter Island is the 2nd best Leo/Scorsese film, with The Departed being the best by far. I'd have Raging Bull as at best, the 5th best De Niro/Scorsese film (Goodfellas, Casino, Taxi Driver, Mean Streets)
Although yeah, saying Shutter island > Goodfellas is just nonsense. Goodfellas is unquestionably in the top 5 of it's decade

If somebody ever makes a list of "Top 10 Most Disappointing Movie Endings In Otherwise Great Movies" then Shutter Island has got to be number 1.
Excellent film. Not a masterpiece, but amazing nonetheless. I love it.
