This movie is amazing!!!!! I hate musicals in general and this made made me appreciate the genre a lot more! It is the best movie of the year despite my LOTR and Batman fanboyism.

i didnt mind it, but i really dont think it should be nominated for best pic, no matter how much talent is invested in it

Best film since No Country For Old Men! I have vast appreciation for Hooper's ability to make this adaptation only possible through film. He created images that I will NEVER forget.

In a strange sense it reminds me of Watchmen: both were the among the most ambitious films to come out in thier respective years, both have some flaws in telling an incredibly large scale story, and both have variable performances in them. Les Miserables is certianly a mixed bag, but its good out wieghs its faults.

I have to confess that the only knowledge I had of this legendary tale came through popular culture references. If it wasn’t for Star Trek or Seinfeld episodes, I would have known absolutely nothing about Les Miserables. Yeah, I’m THAT guy. I can also say that I never met a musical that I liked or even wanted to give much of a chance. That changes in a BIG way here! I was completely enthralled and completely moved by this film and the way it was presented. LOVED it... its performances and message. One of the best films of 2012 to be sure!
