Let me start by saying that I loved Secret Service. Every character has so much personality, the action is great, the story is compelling and for the last 2 and a half years or so I've wanted to see these characters again. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely! The characters, the action, the wit, the adventure. Almost EVERYTHING is so so good! The only thing letting down from being on par with the first one is the villain but it still has an interesting Henchman! Now I need a Kingsman 3 for a complete trilogy!

*Spoilers*Okay let me explain. I rewatched this film last night and my opinion has changed and now I don’t like it as much as I did. It’s still good. The characters are great, the actors remain very impressive, there’s a good message about drugs, I enjoyed the adventure and the two films do have a charm that only few films have. But the flaws were more noticeable. It does everything I wanted from a Kingsman sequel, which is why I liked it so much the first time, but really nothing more. The first 40 minutes is really good and the opening scene is a great way to open but too much of it’s ideas weren’t earned. Let’s recap what happens in the first 40 minutes; The Kingsman have been wiped out, Roxy died, Harry comes back from the dead (which removes any future tension) and the Statesman are introduced. All ideas that don’t work for a second instalment when you’re still getting into the world. I wasn’t that into the movie for the next hour or so. It’s fine and has some cool action, nice set pieces and redoes sequences from the First with an unique twist. But character progression, emotional stakes and just personality felt lacking. The last 40 minutes are brilliant and they do showcase what I wanted to see. Great cinematography, good humour, exciting action and interesting character moments. 6/10 overall. Oh, and Julianne Moore gives probably the worst performance I’ve seen in a mainstream film!
