I honestly don't understand why this is considered a cult classic. This was by far the most disturbing thing I have ever seen.

I think you answered your own question JAB88, in terms of a Midnight horror movie, it is a very disturbing experience, which is what horror fans are looking for. Throw in David Lynch and his career to follow, and the fact that he spent five years trying to get it made and that is the perfect combination of a "cult classic".

All style, no substance. Really just a poor excuse for a movie. I love movies more than anyone I know, and I could hardly wait for this to get over.

Holy fucking shit, this "movie" is terrible. I would even go as far as to say that this ugly big big big pretentious pile of garbage is the worst movie i've seen so far. A truly shit movie with no mening or anything remotely good to It.

I mean, I understand why many don’t like this movie; but no meaning? It’s clear it’s about something, fears of fatherhood. Now it’s not clear on the details, but the overall stuff us easy. And nothing remotely good? What about the sound design, visuals, and sets (I wouldn’t normally jump to these for praises, but I already know your not a big fan of the storytelling)? Are those at least not good?

The ultimate surreal film. No surprise for lynch work but however, it is a weird trip. It is kind of like this film is for horror as what 2001 is for sci-fi, such a weird trip.

Clever, creative, unique, deep, meaningful; truly a special film. It won’t be for everyone, but man it really worked for me.

Am I saying this is a bad film? No, not necessarily; but I am absolutely convinced 90% of the people who praise it have no idea why or what it is they love about it so much.

This is among Lynch's best work. Love it, easily top 100, even if I do prefer Mulholland Dr.
