It was so good to see an ole fashion pure throw-back movie. Old school fun without any “woke” in sight. Strong, compelling characters both men and women written with depth and actual heart. This is a sequel done right and done with care. It wasn’t just call back nostalgia although nostalgia plays a part in the enjoyment of this film. It intelligently and emotionally picks up after the events of Top Gun decades ago. Give Tom Cruise credit, the man knows how to craft top level entertainment. I absolutely loved the real world action and filming practically. You could feel the power and it delivers tangible drama that usually feels artificial when it’s CGI. Maybe if this movie was released ten years ago it wouldn’t have been as impactful but after the push of recent films that place woke virtual signaling ahead of depth and entertainment this effort seems like a masterpiece by comparison.

Instant classic. One of the best movies I've seen in ages. Tom Cruise is the best.

Script is strictly by the numbers, and very much a retread of the original, but those flying scenes are beyond amazing, and make it all worthwhile.
