I look forward to a few years from now when people wake up and realize this is pretty terrible.

I didn't love it as much as McDonagh's previous films, but this is still great

2018 movie #14: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. It is well acted but such a slow burn to no payoff and all the characters are just loud mouth bastards so it makes it difficult to get behind any of them. 4/10.

Disclaimer: This movie came out January 1st, 2018 in my country so I’m counting it.

Underwhelmed. Hard to believe this was considered frontrunner for Best Picture Oscar at one point. I don’t hate the movie, but it’s a three stars out of five type deal. Couldn’t tell if it wanted to be taken seriously, and in any case domestic abuse isn’t funny.

An immensely entertaining black comedy. Flawless from start to finish, and inhabitant by complex, morally gray characters. McDormand is magnificent. Rockwell is wild, funny and a joy to watch.
