I don't think it should have won Best Picture of 2011

They captured the silent era perfectly. I wish more modern movies were made in this old time way. It was really cool to see modern actors be "out of there time" in a way.

Not bad but a huge missed opportunity. Examples; 1. It didn’t went into enough detail about the Great Depression which would’ve fit nicely into the story. 2. Why did he hate talkies so much to the point of depression, refusing to work, burning down his house and almost committing suicide? He spends a film hating on them yet he has no motivations to. 3. So George auctions off his stuff because of how poor he was so Peppy buys it back. But why was the scene where he finds this out so intense? Anyway, my biggest problems is it’s tone. It wanted to be a celebration of the silent era yet it’s so damn depressing. Still good but there’s too many issues like these to ignore, 6/10.
