I'm not sure, actually. It was probably your old comment about Hard Boiled and The Killer. I'm down with anybody who likes John Woo movies.

Absolutely, yeah. And I've always appreciated his treatment of the movie set piece. I walk away from a high percentage of American action movies not remembering the specifics of their action scenes. A lot of stuff goes BOOM, but that's about it. I always walk away from a John Woo movie satisfied. He understands that a shootout in a movie is an event. If I'm watching an action movie, I want the action to jump out at me. I want to remember it. There's a reason people give his shootouts names and not others. The Hospital Shootout, the Church Shootout, etc. He knows his shit.

WOW,looks like i have a lot to learn w/ your Top 10 dude. There's some movies there that i always hear about but never really gave a chance to watch it. I will start w/ Infernal Affairs.

Nice! Remember though that I'm mostly favoring fun over art when I'm ranking here. I wouldn't say that Predator is one of the ten best movies ever made for example, but in terms of enjoyment, it is.

If you're going to watch Infernal Affairs, then you have a treat a head of you though. Even my dad said that it was "the best thriller he had ever seen" after we saw it together for the first time.

I like your definition there: "I wouldn't say that Predator is one of the ten best movies ever made for example, but in terms of enjoyment, it is." That ALWAYS get me when i'm ranking movies here. It's a Personal enjoyment X undeniable merit chartin' challenge everyday.

Tee hee, thanks! (blushes)

I see you have Internal Affairs ranked pretty high, that's the movie The Departed was based on, right? How does it stack up in comparison?

Yeah, The Departed is a remake of Infernal Affairs. Personally, I think that The Departed has the same story, but is an hour longer and therefore is much slower paced. Feels like it's a lot more extra, unnecessary material when compared to Infernal Affairs.

Bloated, is probably the word I am looking for. The Departed feels bloated in comparison. Not a bad movie, but inferior to Infernal Affairs.

Cool. I'll be sure to check it out if I can get the chance.

Btw, replying to me on my page would really help speed up conversation. I'm a lazy/forgetful shite, so Webbedy woo. Also, please reply to my latest comment on my page rather than posting a new comment. It keeps things more organised and prevents other peoples comments being lost/forgotten about by a lazy/forgetful shite.

Also, I guess that means the Departed in a better world would be called . . . Inferior Affairs! Boom tish. Tip your waitresses.
