Downright insane. So much fun to watch in theatres with an audience. I'd never seen it before, and thought I knew what to expect from clips I'd seen, but it was so much better/worse than I could have imagined. I think it was especially great seeing it in a San Francisco theatre since the film is based in SF. There was plenty of opportunities for people to make fun of the movie which enhanced the experience a ton, but then there would also be cheering for San Francisco landmarks, etc. It was a blast.

Oh, I'm very interested in Upstream Colour, but I'll probably have to wait for DVD. Movies like this don't get released in the cinemas here.

Yeah, I'm in the suburbs myself and had to go to a theatre I'd never been to in the city to be able to scratch the itch I'd had to see it.

Anyway, did you ever see Primer? Well, it's completely different. Still a brain exercise, but more along the lines of The Tree of Life... except more enjoyable to watch (at least for me). It was just really captivating. It's a beautiful film. It really made an impact and stuck with me for several days after, in a way most movies don't. All that to say, I actually don't want to hype it up because it's pretty obscure at times and definitely not for everyone. But yeah, I'm really hoping Shane Carruth keeps making movies on a more frequent basis than 9 years apart (too bad about A Topiary).

I'm further out than the suburbs. :) I'm from West Australia, out in the countryside. :)

I did see Primer! That's what caught my attention to the film. Thanks for your thoughts on the movie Jacob.

Nope. Is it anywhere near the greatness level of Raising Arizona?

Well, it's very different to Raising Arizona. Do you laugh when Cage is acting crazy? If you do, you should definitely check out Vampire's Kiss. It easily his craziest movie. The whole movie is on YouTube if you happen to want to see it. :)
