thanks man and yeah shawshank is amazing just rewatched it yesterday

I see it moved up on your list. I rewatched raiders the other day and that moved into my top 10, what a great adventure movie. I am also glad to see 2001: a space odyssey in your top 10, however, I never really figured out why the empire strikes back is so loved. It's in my top 20 because it is good, but is wasn't as good as movies like Shawshank, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and all the other movies that are ahead of it in my top 10. Why did you like it so much and what were some of your favorite parts( convince me why it is SOOOOO good) :)
(It would also be great if you could leave your return comments on my chart so I an see them, thanks) Have you seen 3:10 to Yuma? If so, what did you think about it. I think it's possibly THE most underrated movie of all time. If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it! :)

Thanks you the feedback, I watched Empire the other day and I understood why everyone says its SOOO great... because it is.

thanks i like your top 10 2 however i don't understand your high rnaking 4 dumb and dumber and kick ass can u explain it 2 me please

I love crazy action movies. That's why 300, Kick-Ass, and Shoot 'Em Up are so high. Are they up that high because I consider them better made than, let's say....Goodfellas? Hell no! But for my personal enjoyment, it has to be that high.I grew up watching Dumb and Dumber. There is a lot of nostalgia connected to that movie. I nearly know it off by heart when I make jokes about it. Dumb and Dumber just fits my sense of humour perfectly. You will notice that another comedy, Vampire's Kiss, is also very high on my list. Does it deserve to be there? Probably not critically, but personally, it's an easy choice for me. Both movies used to be outside my top 100. Slowly, but surely they creeped up my list. I realised that I was too fond of them to not have them up so high. Do I make sense? They're not Raiders, but there impact on me needs to be recognised.
fair enough there are many films that i have alot higher than most would have that probabily shouldn't be there but there specil movies to me so i get it

I set this new account up JUST before these comments changes. I set it up because people were having trouble loading my page because I have so many comments. But now, i will have to use it for my sake unless Flickchart help me. You see, when I try and load my other comments now, it stalls, and even throws me off the Internet. So unless they fix it, you may have to leave comments here. I got five new comments whilst I was asleep, but can only see two of them.

I second Daniel's recommendation to see The Usual Suspects.
Scorcese. Thoughts?

hes a great director but his movies are so underrated my faviourit eof his movies is gooidfellas, but i haven't seen raging bull and taxi driver
It's a must to see both those movies. I'm excited for Wolf of Wall Street.Yay.....ish for The Titanic. It's not terrible, but I wouldn't rewatch it in a hurry. I think some of the cheesiness that's in the movie doesn't help it. "I'm the king of the world" is mocked constantly, plus that Celine Dion song is terrible.
djones16 on 12/12/2013 Reply · Like · (1 like)
i was thinking about doing this ya or nay thing weekly you know to create conversation do u think more people will comment on it i think yay or nay could help create more conversations on flickchart
I always comment on people's walls btw, so you don't have to worry about that. ;)
I don't think I added enough why I sort of like it. It's all for the spectacle of the boat. I watched this in the cinema as a very young kid, and being wowed by the special effects. All the romance in the movie doesn't need to be in there. Have you heard of A Night to Remember? Well, it's also about the titantic sinking, but without all the romance tacked on. It's a much better movie in my opinion.
i've never heard of a night to remember ibut i will check it out, for em titanic is a massive nay because i find it incrediblyy boring with an overrated love story adn an overraed movie overall and i might be over thinking this but i find the movie incredibly disrspectful to the victims of titanci becuase i didn't feel like this was a tragic moment in hte movie and all the movie really does is make the ifes of two characters (jack and rose) important or that only there lifes matter i don't know if i;m over thinking it or not but thats just hw i feel.
As Shane said, I also comment on others walls so ya you don't have to worry about that. So, to answer your questions, The Dark Knight Rises- Yay, Titanic- Yay-ish, first half it O.K. although, the other half somewhat makes up for it( its definitely due for a re-watch) Man of Steel- Another Yay-ish, but even less so than Titanic. My problems with Man of Steel are mainly the fight scenes are just DRAGGED ON SO MUCH to the point that they just got so boring! It had its moments but overall... it wasn't that great( but... thats just my opinion). Thanks for asking me these questions :) I really enjoy answering them! I'll try to leave some for you to answer!

btw thanks man if u don't mind could u try and encourage some more people to comment on my yay annd nays and make it a bit larger i feel if more people get involved in it the conversations ould be alot better
shane24 on 12/12/2013 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Yay or nay could be fun. :) Most of these things die in the arse after a while, though. :)I don't dislike The Titanic as much as you, but I totally get why you think that way. I really think A Night to Remember could be a movie for you after reading what you disliked about The Titanic.
thanks man if u don't mind could u try and encourage some more people to comment on my yay annd nays and make it a bit larger i feel if more people get involved in it the conversations ould be alot better
Man! You got me with another in the middle one. :) I don't hate it as much as a lot of people. Sure, it's kinda stupid, but I like moments. The dancing emo Peter isn't great, nor is venom. But, the fight with Harry was enjoyable to me. I would lean closer to a nay, but it's not a strong nay, if you get me. I will try and tell some people about yay or nay as long as you keep spreading the word yourself as well.
thanks amn and yeah i will spread the word as well
i've already sent messages to someof my friends on flickchart
Danielod on 12/12/2013 Reply · Like · (1 like)
i will agree with Shane I am also in the middle on this one! I agree it has its moments, but its also rather stupid at times. I will also lean towards nay on this one...

fair enough
Can you please tell me about Kamen Rider Black? I've never heard of it, and you gave it such a great score. I also would like to see Rome, Open City. What did you think of it?

Oh, okay. :) It used to be yay for Jurassic Park 2 when I was younger, but now, I would have to say nay. It just doesn't come close to the original. It's much better than the third, though.
djones16 on 12/15/2013 Reply · Like · (1 like)
i agree however i would say yay for JP 2 becuase i don't believe its as tterrible as people say it is JP 3 on the other hand is a different story
It's more like a inbetweener of yay and nay again, but I didn't want to keep saying that. It's still a 3/5 for me, though.
Tom Hardys Bane yay or nay

A big yay. His performance gets better every time I see it. I do wish his story arc ended a bit different. I do believe that he's not just a mercenary like some people have claimed.

Well, Jim Carrey for now. Pegg has to do a few more movies. Carrey hasn't chosen well the last few years, though.
The godfather 3 yay or nay
That's a yay for Godfather 3. I think it's still a good movie, but people are comparing it to the first two movies too much.

Haven't seen Shawshank Redemption and I need to watch It's a Wonderful Life again so I can't say anything about those two.I might be in the minority, but l like Man of Steel more than Iron Man.I never understood why people liked Iron Man so much,he's just a cocky jerk.
djones16 on 1/3/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
dude you've got to see the shawshank redemption in my opinion a near perfect movie, and i also liked man of steel however i feel iron man is more fun
shane24 on 1/3/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Shawshank is in my top ten.Love the action of Man of Steel, but I found many plot points too ridiculous. I choose Iron Man.
saddler16 on 1/3/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
What did you find ridiculous in Man of Steel?
i definately disagree about man of steels plot i felt it was well put together and was a great introduction to both this version of superman and the dc cinematic universe however i di think at the begining of the movie the plot was greatly timed wrong
shane24 on 1/4/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
If you go to the Man of Steel page, all my thoughts are down in the comments section. Just so we're clear, I still gave it a 4.5/5.

That's a yay for The Departed. Not my favourite film by Scorsese, but it's very solid. It shouldn't be the movie that won him an Oscar.
I can't explain Close Encounters. I like it, but it's not mind blowing for me. About a 7/10.
Not enough nominees come to Australia in time for me to comment.

Sorry for the late reply, man. I feel that Blair Witch is definitely a film that proves that use of dialogue and imagination can be much scarier than pop out thrills, if executed correctly. Blair Witch does this and more...

Yeah, Halloween is the better movie, but I don't like it as much. Opinion may change.I don't think there's a overrated film in your top ten. Which version of The Man Who Knew Too Much?Godfather 1. I feel a lag in part 2 in places. One suggestion. If you go and leave comments on match ups, you may get more people to come to your page. Just trying to help you. :)
ok thanks foryour suggestion i will put some comments on different matchups

hey guys sorry for not being on ghere as much as usual i had several exams this month so yay or nay to the james bond franchise and what is your fav adn most hated bond film as a huge fan i'm extremely interested in your opinions its obviously a yay for me with skyfall as my fav, thunderball is my most hated
I've seen 6 Bond films I think. Casino Royale is my favorite, and Die Another Day is my least favorite.
yeh att th time CR was my fav but then i saw skyfall
cheesydog1 on 3/22/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
well I have not seen a lot of bond films but with the ones I have seen skyfall is my favorite
fair enough syfall is pretty awesome
shane24 on 3/23/2014 Reply · Like · (2 likes)
It's very close between Casino Royale and Skyfall for me. I will give the edge to Casino Royale- that parkour start blew me away after I had doubts. I had a 180 opinion change on Die Another Day. I used to love it, but now I consider it the worst.Side note. I love Danger: Diabolik, which is like an anti Bond film. Bloody awesome.

I haven't seen Citizen Kane.
shane24 on 3/25/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
I used to think that for about ten years. But on a rewatch, I appreciated it much more. It went from the 1700s on my list, to the high 100s. :)
djones16 on 3/25/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
nice i should rewatch it as i currently don't think much of it

I think I appreciated it more now that I'm an old codger. ;) I'm not very old, but I do think a bit more experience with older films, and a new appreciation for a variety of films has helped me become quite a fan of Citizen Kane.

I just loved the crap out of The Godfather! It's pretty easily one of the best movies I've ever seen. The story, the acting, the script, the cinematography, all were just perfect! It's currently in my top 20,but I'm sure it will move up higher upon repeat viewings! I see the second is also in your top 10.Do you think I should watch part 1 a few more times before I see part 2?
djones16 on 3/31/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
well it dpends if you unsderstood the story on one viewing i took me 3 viewings to truly understadn the greatness of te movie but as its in your top 20 i'm guessign you unerstood it so i recomend watching the second one
cheesydog1 on 3/31/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Both fantastic directors but my favorite is Kubrick with stuff like A Clockwork Orange, 2001 and my favorite The Shining but Hitchcock is great with films like The Birds and my favorite of his Psycho I have not seen Vertigo or Rear Window yet which are suppose to be his best but still I don't think he'll ever beat Kubrick in my opinion
djones16 on 4/1/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
i envy you i wish i could go back to a time where i haven't seen vetrtio and rear window so i can relive the magic i hop u enjoy them when u get to watching them :)
FilmOdyssey on 3/31/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I'd have to say Kubrick. Hitchcock is good n' all, but Kubrick has influenced me over the past 2 years to really become a film aficionado. The Shining is in my top five films. 2001 is a breathtaking masterpiece. A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Paths of Glory, and Dr. Strangelove are other great ones.
i 2 love the shining adn i LOOOOVE 2001 how many times have u seen them because like with vertigo, rear window and the two godfather movies i do think i love those movies more now that i rewatched them
personally my answer is pretty ovbious cos of my chart but i prefer hitchcock because i love what is in my opinion his two best movies more than any of kubrick movies that being rear window and vertigo but i do want to watch dr strangelove adn i want ot rewatch a cockwork orange my opinion could change
shane24 on 4/2/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
Oooh! A toughie! I may have to give a slight edge to Kubrick. Mainly because of my love for The Shining. I must point out, that I think I need to rewatch many of Hitchcock movies to see if I get more out of them. It's funny, I have tended to like his lesser known work more than best. However, my three favourites of his are Psycho, Strangers on a Train, and Dial M for Murder. Three well known films.

Tom Cruise vs Brad Pitt
FilmOdyssey on 4/6/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
Tom Cruise is the better action star. I love him in films, such as: War of the Worlds, the Mission Impossible series, and Collateral. Brad Pitt is the better actor though. He stars in some of my favorite films: Inglourious Basterds, Se7en, and Fight Club.
djones16 on 4/6/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
I disagree i really believe tom cruise is a better actor for his roles in jerry maguire, born on the forth of july, top gun eyes wide shutas well as the mvies you mentioned but with brad pitt i haven't seen IB or seen and i didn't like fight club so i'll pick TC
shane24 on 4/6/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
It's Brad Pitt for me. I enjoy many of the films Cruise is in, but I just find Pitt much more consistent. Also, lately, Cruise to me seems to be playing the same type of characters.
Are the names of actors highlighted yellow, like it's a link, for anybody else?

djones16 on 4/8/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
wow i'm surprised i'm te only person to picktom cruise for the other question its a mix between critian bale and gary oldman but i will go with bale for now
FilmOdyssey on 4/9/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
For my favorite British actor, I'd have to say Michael Fassbender. He is fantastic as Erik in X-Men: First Class, and also in Prometheus and Inglourious Basterds. Christian Bale is second, with the Nolan Batman Trilogy and American Psycho.

I really like Marvel I'm not huge into it like other people are but I still like it but I do prefer Batman to be honest back to Marvel I mean there are some Marvel movies I do enjoy like Capt. America the Winter soldier of coarse Iron Man both I don't consider fantastic but again I do enjoy them there's not a lot that I have seen either like Thor or you know stuff like that but I do love Batman their by far not some of my favorite movies ever but again still great and that's what I'm choosing

shane24 on 4/20/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
I like Spider-Man 3 better. Some of the fights aren't that bad really. Nolan Batman films are top for me. I'm glad squaremaster, and yellow jacket don't visit this page, otherwise you'd get a thousand angry comments back and forth to each other. Weirdos.Star Trek Into Darkness. But if you're talking Pegg lead films, then it's Shaun of the Dead for me.

Yep, I can see the weirdo in your friends list. :)
Have you seen Saboteur?
no whats it about
It's a Hitchcock film, you can find it on YouTube. It's about a guy wrongly accused of being a saboteur, trying to clear his name. Very similar film to The 39 Steps, and Young and Innocent, also Hitchcock.

Squaremaster floods the comments sections with his trolling comments against Marvel, whilst going on, and on about Nolan. This is coming from the guy with two Nolan films at the top of my list. :)I will get back to you about Spider-Man very soon. :)
cheesydog1 on 4/23/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
Ya I do have to say Nolan is overrated I hope I don't get trolled now
Ya I can see he has every Nolan film in his top ten
shane24 on 4/23/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
No trolling by me. :) That's your opinion, and you're allowed to have it. Something Squaremaster, or yellow jacket wouldn't allow. People forget about yellow jacket, he's just as bad, maybe even worse than squaremaster.Yep, Nolan all at the top, and Marvel all down the bottom. Yet, squaremaster always runs out to see the Marvel films, because he's always commenting first. Unless, he's not watching them at all, which wouldn't surprise me.

I just watched Amazing Spider-Man 2. I gave it a light 4/5 on Letterboxd. I thought the action was good, Dane Dehaan was awesome (made me sympathise with Harty for a while), and Jamie Foxx as Electro was good. I enjoyed the voices in his head as well, I thought that was a unique touch the way they did it. I thought it was too long. I think 20 to 30 minutes could've been cut out to make a tighter story. I also didn't like Paul Giamatti as Rhino, or the actual suit. Too clunky looking. I also didn't find Jamie Foxx very convincing as Max.
djones16 on 4/24/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
totally agree apart from the rhino suit i liked the modern robot like suit, and i think he was only for comic relief. hey shane what did u think of (SPOILER ALERT) Gwen Stacys death scene i didn't like it i thought it was over dramatic. but i did like the aftermath peters reactions and so on it made me sympthaise with him more
shane24 on 4/24/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
*******Spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man 2******I thought Garfield was good after the death, but after seeing him in Boy A this week, I think he could've done better. Not bagging it, I still liked his performance, I just thought I saw much better in the other film. I was also thinking......what happened to Harry? Did he just quietly leave? Really, in that situation, I would've jump down and snapped his neck. :DGwen's uni speech was ridiculous to me. Who says that to fellow students? It was silly how much it lined up with what happens at the end. Considering Rhino is going to play a major part in the future, I don't know if I like him being used as comic relief. How can we take him seriously later? Did you see the after credits teaser for X-Men?*******Spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2******
was that what really happened after the credits i left during the credits and i think the spiderman films always had some form of comedy in it so i don't have a problem with rhino but i hop ehtye don't do with him whta happened with the mandarin in iron man 3 btw unrelated to movies do u use the wwe network if u do whats it like is it worth 10 per month
shane24 on 4/25/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
*****Spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2*****It was a deal between two studios. They allowed them to keep Webb to direct the sequel, if they did free advertisement for X-Men at the end. I got excited for a second, because I thought it actually meant the two studios were going to work together. Intstead, it was just a lame ad. *******Spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2*****Sorry, I'm Australian, we don't get the WWE network, so I can't give you an answer.

Breaking bad vs walking dead vs game of thrones which is the least good best and middle

I have too many to count. Plus so many I have yet to play. :DWould the Dark Knight trilogy count? As it's separate from the rest of the films? If not, then the Lord of the Rings trilogy.Breaking Bad on top for me. The next would be Game of Thrones, and much further behind would be The Walking Dead. Although, I have a lot of catching up to do with The Walking Dead.

This took me a while to decide because basically my top list I can watch over and over again so now I've finally decided by far this is the film that I can watch four times a day this beats any film on my list and that is Sling Blade this film is so so so great so relaxing I never get bored so underrated I think it's the most underrated film of all time next Evil Dead original my favorite horror film of all time Night of the Living Dead, Shawshank Redemption and last would be Cool Hand Luke that's at least what I think of for right now but the first three would definitely be up there
nice one mate interesting picks i ould go with the shawshank redemption, the godfather, the two towers, the dark knight and vertigo

unfortunatly i haven't seen enough of his films to answer that question but feel free to ask me another question if you want :)
Alright I got a pretty simple one for you what do you think of my favorite films list
djones16 on 5/15/2014 Reply · Like · (1 like)
ok to start with i haven't seen sung blade or rushmore so i can't comment on them, i liked the evil dead movies alot some of my favourite horror films, night of the living dead is a classic another brilliant film, the shining is fantastic my fav performance from jack nicolson i would probabily put it above evil dead and NOTLD if it were my list i love the next three movies on your list i think OFOTCN and forrest gump is almost perfect and that the shawshank redemption is perfect and as for nightmare on elm street i love that to although i don't like it as much as you and i don't really like halloween that much what about it made you love it so much? other than that tho great list
cheesydog1 on 5/16/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Thanks man I really like your list as well I haven't seen those two Hitchcock films yet and I have not seen that Lord of the Rings film yet and back to my list ya I can see why you probably don't like Halloween all that muchI highly reckon you check out Sling Blade it's an absolute amazing film really underrated
djones16 on 5/17/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
ok i'll check it out later
who is your 3 fav actors and why i would go with christopher lee becuase he is the ultimate actor to play a villian hes perfect at it, hes a tremendous actor in my opinion and he puts all his effort in each role he plays even at the age of 90. My second favourite actor of all time is christian bale put aside his incredible portrayal as batman, he was great in american psycho, the prestige, american hustle, the fighter and the machinst he clearly has a real passion for movies and he really cares and you will know that if you've seen the machinst. My third favourite is james stewart he stared in some of my favourite nd bestmovies of all time in vertigo and rear window unfortunatly i havewatched both very recently and i wasn't able to experience them earlier.

My most disappointing film is Kick-Ass 2. There's probably another, but that's the one that comes to mind.Tokyo Story, and Arsenic and Old Lace, and Vampire's Kiss were HUGE surprises!
cheesydog1 on 6/14/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I think so too like for example Spoiler alert for Dumb and Dumber to trailerLike in the beginning when Jim Carrey is in that hospital with all that long hair and beard and then you find out he was faking it for 20 years it was really funny but yeah they didn't need to show that scene

thanks saddler Seven Samurai it is
Arthouse on 10/11/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Ikiru is more emotionally manipulating, pulling on your heart strings, realizing this guy is dying and also feeling happy he has redeemed his life of monotony and produced his children's park. I think that sometimes the second half gets criticized but the ending puts the disappointment to the back of your mind and reflect ion the positives which overcome the negatives. Seven Samurai is a great movie that has more action than in Ikiru. I would say Ikiru as I prefer it.

I have watched some Kubrick movies and agree with you on saying that Full Metal Jacket is a totally overrated film which gets WAY too much credit. I didn't think the acting was that good and to be honest, it didn't feel like an extravagant masterpiece he always produces. I thought his earlier film 'Lolita' was better and also, that is a chronically underrated film.

just had to choose between two movie i love american hustle and the wolf of wall street both bale and dicaprio stole their respective film with incredible performances. I love this website when this happens :) Which performance did you guys like more bale as irving rosenfeld or dicaprio as jordan belfour after a hour of thinking (literally) i choose bale what about you guys
I think DiCaprio has a way of acting that you feel like he IS the actual person he is playing. Not one time did he go out of character an also, I just love the film 'Wolf of Wall Street'. It is so much fun. Bale is always great but I prefer DiCaprio in that and him all together.
i think the Wolf of wall street is the better movie, but bale as irving rosenfeld was perfect IMO as well as dicaprio as Jordan Belfour, but i prefer Bale, probabily because i like his character more
what is you guys movie of the year so far and what movie do you think will be the best film of the year. The best film i've seen so far this year is guardians of the galaxy, I think the film of the year will be chris nolans interstellor

shane24 on 10/26/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I personally didn't think so, but I'm interested in your opinion.
the acting in my opinion was ok, there were certain parts of the film i thought were boring and i wanted to turn my ps4 off alot of times. I wasn't a big fan of the characters, i know its based on a real story, and i might sound like a bit of a dick but i didnt care about captain phillips in the film. The scene when he went into the boat to tell them how to use the boat, and he expected them to let him go, i had no sympathy for him. Of course in real life captain phillips is a hero and i respect him, in the film he was in my opinion a complete moron

I can't judge who will win, as Australia always gets the movies that will be up for awards in January and February. I just wish they let us see a few glimpses of new characters. The millennium falcon part was amazing, but the three-pronged lightsaber better come in handy, or it's just a gimmick.
djones16 on 12/2/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
i think there hand guards
like swords used during the olden days
shane24 on 12/2/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I know. But it better be actually used to save a hand, or even used in closed combat to kill, or it'll be pointless to put it in the movie, thus making it gimmicky. I'm sure they will.
djones16 on 12/3/2014 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I hope they do that two I do think that type of lightsaber would have been better without the two extra pronges but sof far its looking good I also wanted to see more of the newer characters but I guess that's why its called a teaser

I wouldn't do Spider-Man as they planned. Bringing him back to high school. I want to see an older Spider-Man, see how he deals with it. So I say bring back Tobey Maguire, have John Malkovich as The Vulture and Donald Glover for Miles Morales (hands the reigns to him). Would love Gareth Evans directing.

i have been thinking of perfect questions to ask a movie fan, and i think i have found it so, if you could remake any franchise who would be the first three actors your would cast, who would they play and who would direct, i would remake the classic peter cushing frankenstein movies and i would have christian bale as the dr frankenstein, chris pratt as the hero, and dwayne johnson as the monster with tim burton directing

It has been a hectic week of work for me. But, the weekend is here, so I'm happy now.Species is terrible. I felt like the scriptwriters treated the audience like idiots, explaining even basic facts. It had a laughable group of people trying to find her....(I fell asleep for six hours right at this point typing this :D). I also think the special effects were terrible. I'm wondering it they were good for 1995. If not, they should've figured something else out. Like practical effects. She would've looked fare more intimidating.

Love your top 10 its a film buff's 10 indeed! got a Question? who is your fav director and what movie genre is a fav of yours?+ how do you decide on the films you like? Trailers, word of mouth, classics or do you watch films a random? im doing a survey/movie project blog
djones16 on 4/15/2015 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
Hmmm i would say my favourite director is Alfred Hitchcock, I like superhero movies like the dark knight and films about a single persons story like forrest gump and shawshank redemption. I decide on the films i watch mainly on classics, as well as word of mouth as my brothers would watch films in the cinema and would tell me if there good.

Star Wars definitely made me more excited. Batman v Supermna initially made me excited, but it left me many questions. Will I enjoy Batman's voice? Will the statue look better later? Does it need to look so dark? There was a great clip that showed how much better Man of Steel would look if it was brighter. They also made a great point that they could then showed it light in this film when Sperman is on screen, and dark when Batman is, so there's quite a contrast in the look of the film. I got more excited for Ant-Man. I think they showed just how being tiny can be exciting to watch. But what I got most interested in was Black Mass! Did you see that one? That's a great trailer. I suggest watching it without looking up much info about it if it's possible.

i liked it i'm a bit concerned because johnny depp IMO hasn't been in a good movie since edward scissorhands, but it could be his goodfellas, or in rober downey jrs case his ironman

I sorta agree with you. I think he has made so many terrible movies, but there is some great movies in there as well. But, sorta spread out over the years.

Glad you liked it. No, I haven't seen it yet. I live a long way from the cinemas. Is Hardy's Aussie accent good? I thinkcthis film will end up very high on my flickchart.

top be honest i didn't really pay much attention to hardys accent
i was to into the movie i wasn't really paying attention about things like that to be honest

Ok, fair enough. I'm Aussie, so I will hope for a good accent, otherwise it will be grating to listen to. Pacific Rim has terrible Aussie accents.

Well, I finally watched Le Samourai, which has been the top film on my list of shame for about three bloody years. Got delivered to me two week ago. It now sits in my top 100 comfortably. I also loved Only Lovers Left Alive, and the silent film, The Wind.

Hey man, thanks for asking! I've been great! School just started back up again. I'm a sophomore in high school and unfortunately, I'm going to have lots of homework, so I'll only be able to watch movies every so often. Anyways, How have you been? Seen any good movies lately? I noticed you haven't seen Apocalypse Now (one of my favorites) and seeing how much you seen to like Francis For Coppola's movies, I'm sure you'll love it. Also, I see you REALLY love Vertigo. I was wondering what you love so much about it. Alfred Hitchcock is one of my favorite directors, but that one just didn't work for me. I love the rest of your top 10 though!
shane24 on 8/29/2015 Reply · Like · (0 likes)
I'm good thanks. Saw Inside Out. While I did enjoy it, I don't think it's up to the quality of the older films. Was a bit too kiddy for me. Solid 3.5/5.Didn't see Fantastic Four. I won't pay money for that. Ant-Man was fun, but I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would. I also feel some of these films are starting to feel exactly the same. What I liked about Winter Soldier was it broke the mould. 3/5 for me. Loved M I 5! I gave it a 4/5, but I think it could get even better on a second watch. That girl is somebody to watch, she was very good. Oh, and I loved the action set pieces. They were very interesting. Much better than any in The Man from Uncle.

I have seen Star Wars now. I thought it was really good. I had a few problems that are spoilers, but overall I would give it a 4.5/5. Rey was the highlight for me, followed by BB8. I think we should congratulate them for not messing them up, which could've been Veey easy to do. What are your thoughts?

Hello djones16. Of course I remember you, and I also remember your other account bjonesb. Hope you're doing well bro. I'd love to answer your question but I haven't seen Jurassic World 2 yet, though I will say, I'm a bit surprised to know that both Jurassic World films have grossed over a billion. You would've expected audiences to have grown tired of dinosaurs by now, those giant pre-historic reptiles whose place in history and very existence is being questioned with the passing of each day. In 2019, a sequel to Godzilla will also be released. Yeah, Hollywood is trying very, very hard to promulgate a giant-reptilian agenda.

I know man. It all seems like a lost cause now. DC should never have tried to imitate Marvel. The latter are only interested in making money, now that they know they have an established fan-base that will consume whatever crap they produce.Wide-reaching changes are required in DC's case, and I think the director who has what it takes to bring an artistic sensibility to blockbuster cinema is Gareth Edwards! After watching Godzilla I can see him as DC's savior, the guy who resurrects DC's low quality of output recently. DC has always been the superior storyteller in the print medium; high time they proved that in the film medium as well.

Definitely agree with your choices.

I just expected a lot more from Mad Max than a barely adequate action flick with A-list stars. Honestly, it felt like a Fast & Furious flick set in the sands of Australia, bereft of real, fully fleshed out characters: they were ridiculous over-the-top characters you'd expect in a violent video-game.The Dark Knight may be overrated but it's still a legendary mountain of cinema -- nothing like the hollow mole hill that is Mad Max Fury Road.

Hey there. Thanks for liking my top ten and since you ask, all of your top ten are great films in my book although I don't rank The Dark Knight or American Psycho all that high and much prefer Burton's Batman films to Nolan's.
