I don't get why 48 Hours has such a good reputation. Anyway, Tango & Cash is the far superior buddy cop movie.
Because Walter Hill's one of the best directors to ever make an action flick, Nolte's a hard-ass, and Eddie's fucking at-the-top-of-his-game HILARIOUS, and they've got great chemistry. Most action-comedies focus on the comedy (which usually isn't even funny) and file down the action. 48 Hrs. excels at both and slacks at neither.
