Wow, I feel like this should be an easier choice, but the matchup certainly gave me pause. Unforgiven wins for a more solid cast and because it's a western.

Unforgiven is more of a transcendent experience for me.

Unforgiven is great. American Beauty is in my top 3 favorite movies of all-time. My top 2 are animated. This means that American Beauty is my favorite live-action film period. I mean that. American Beauty crushes Unforgiven hard.
